He’s dangerous and tapped in to populism and wanted to rule like an unchallenged King. I’m glad he’s out. I don’t think we can be too smug with out current government though. Exactly the same tactics. Putin must be laughing his head off in the Kremlin.

Putin is laughing at everything right now.

Russia thrives by creating division within their 'enimies'

If you cause division and disorder you are free to take advantage.

Why do you think Russia got involved in the USA elections?

Why is Brexit a good thing for Russia?

Trump has always banged on about China, trust me, the biggest threat right now is Russia.

They are seriously underestimated and that's a huge mistake.

He risked a full on war with the middle East by taking out Soleimani.

He got away with that one, if he got 4 more years in office he wouldnt be so lucky next time.

The fact that Trump was elected instead of the "most qualified person ever to run for office" indicates a lot of disenfranchised Americans and a loss of trust in the political system/politicians.

For some I think a vote for Trump was a protest vote (similar to how some used the Brexit vote to show protest against the EU).

Hopefully now that the circus has ended politicians and those in authority will not neglect these demographs or ignore the electorate.

The best to hope for is that the Trump Administration will be like a thunderstorm and the air will be clearer when it ends.

The differences between world leaders is their actions.

Trump is full of himself, the showman always wanting to show who's boss regardless of the consequences.

Russia and China are more secretive. More ninja if you will. Cyber attacks, space war etc.

There will be another world war, it's only a matter of time with Iran, India, China and Russia fueling the tensions.

But Trump, well, he would be the spark to ignite it all.

Hopefully it doesn't happen in our lifetime, but it will happen

I don't mean to be a Prophet of Doom here. But there are things happening with space contacts that are very worrying.

Russia test fired a weapon from a satellite.

Space has always been non territorial, but imagine if satellites could target other satellites.

Military, defence, communications etc.

Ground to air missiles can already do this. USA + China have already blown up a satellite doing this. But it's easily traced and tracked.

Do it from space, well, it's too late to act. Boom = satellite destroyed before you know it.

That's why USA + UK have spent a small fortune on recent space contracts.

A sad state of affairs, but there's more happening right now than Covid.

Well it goes without saying it'd be far easier to list the bad things he's done. The perpetuating of his lies even after the truth was established would take hours alone to list! But, in the interest of fairness and the post's request, there are a couple or so that might surprise...

1) No new wars. So he definitely killed less people than previous recent US Presidents. But that's still maybe of little solace to the people of Afghanistan where US military action continues

2) Salary Donation. He donated all his salary inc over $100k to Alcoholics Anon in memory of his brother Fred.

3) Violent crime in the US fell each year from 2016 onwards. Yep. Its a fact.

4) Appointed 5 openly gay Ambassadors.

5) Increased funding for colleges that traditionally have black students.

6) Personally got dozens of US hostages released that Obama had failed for years to do.

Oh, he also created a new 6th wing of the Military - the infamous Space Force - but I'll let you decide whether that's good or bad!

Admittedly yes, he's done good for the people of USA in all the points raised and with the economy.

My issue with him, would be the prospect of a world war if he was still in power.

I believe it would be more likely with Trump, than with Biden

Since Trump met Kin jong Un, North Korea had continued to develop it's nuclear capability, and also developed long-range missiles that experts say can strike every major city in the continental United States.

Back in its box? All Trump achieved was publicity for himself. That's what it was always about.

A protest that will probably make a lot of people worse off.

Similarly a protest vote for trump ended up in an armed insurrection.

When people do a protest vote in future perhaps they shall have a little think of what they are actually voting for?

The political class as a rule follow a welltrod path and trusted route and its been said for a least a couple of decades why cant someone come forth via a different path, thats Trump.

Trying to run a country as one would run a business has proved less than successful probably as much to do with the traditional political class wanting to fuck him up and his own overbearing ego and vanity.

What's the problem with acknowledging Trump's poor response to the pandemic?

"Reagan was indeed Governer of California and had a background as a Union Leader (screen actors I’m assuming) so although he came from a working class background he did not just appear on the political stage in the same way that Trump did."

Ah ok

Its painted as a positive that anyone can be president but in reality unless you are brewestered and extremely well connected, its impossible.

"It’s a shame how people think one person is responsible for all of those COVID deaths. In that case, every death worldwide is the direct fault the deceased persons President, or king, or PM or whatever. For Christ sake, open your sight picture a little. Some of you probably think the launch all nukes button is on the presidents night stand. No President, no matter how much of a twat he is gets the sole decision on anything.

He refused to believe it was real for months and did nothing to combat it.

This directly resulted in people dying.

That is an irrefutable fact.

He banned flights the moment the 1st case showed up in the US. That was thought to be xenophobic by the left!

Did he take covid serously?"

"Sorry but he has no good points.

He's more dangerous than Kim Jong-un, Xi Jinping and Putin combined

Since Trump has been in power there seems to have been less a threat of a world war than previous presidents, but still has 2 weeks to go

He risked a full on war with the middle East by taking out Soleimani.

He got away with that one, if he got 4 more years in office he wouldnt be so lucky next time. "

Nah. The question was what were his good points. There aren’t many, he’s a loon, but unquestionably he rowed us back from the brink of many conflicts.

The Iranian situation has been brewing for decades but the most dangerous action was withdrawing after the second gulf war when Iran was virtually begging to give up its nuclear programme.

"Well it goes without saying it'd be far easier to list the bad things he's done.

I believe it would be more likely with Trump, than with Biden "

Well, I'm not sure on that. Trump could have started war with Iran but he vetoed it with less than 90 mins to spare. He's the only president not to wage new war since... I don't when. A long time anyway. Trump I think prefers blatantly lying to actual war! Its more fun for him. Plus while at war its less golf days.

Biden on the other hand is bankrolled by many of the main defence contractors. They like war. Its good for business. All those bombs dropped on kids... well... they need shiny new ones to replace them.

One thing I would say is that if any action does escalate in next 4 years it will be the puppet masters pulling the strings. Sleepy dementia riddled Biden as Commander-in -Chief? He's probably not even in control of his own bowel movements.

Personally I don't believe Trump is responsible for 'all of those Covid deaths' however his intransigence, cavalier attitude towards science and a lack of leadership has certainly contributed significantly to the accumulating death toll.

After all he claims credit for other things which reflect positively that he had no direct influence over, he can't have it both ways.

"Can't join you on the Trump love in dude I can't stand him, but I won't shout you down for being a fan either. I want less division on the planet. Facebook turned us into polarised factions. I want no part in that either.

I’m no Trump fan as think he’s a total megalomaniac, but has killed less people than recent presidents

....he has killed more people in the US than anyone since the Civil War. The man is abominable."

It's a virus that killed it has 0 political affiliation. It does not care about what your beliefs are it does not care about lockdowns or economic impact. It is relentless in it's pursuit

He has the blood of far more U.S. citizens on his hands.

I'd say that negates your point.

"For me killed less people than Obama,ie dropped less bombs on the Middle East and made friends with Kim Johng so made the world a safer place."

But did he really.... he sold out his allies in Syria to the Russians... and he sold out the Kurds, who did his ground fighting against isis, to the Turks

And in both cases left his nato allies vulnerable

Princes Risborough, Luasanne, Alderney

Trump bombed the same seven countries as Obama. the tally of bombs dropped on other countries increased year on year since 2016.

"I’m not a fan but he can’t be that bad, he didn’t start any wars and he was nominated for a peace prize. I heard their economy wasn’t doing too bad before Covid either. "

Has everyone forgotten he's had heading for 400,000 people killed with an incompetent and dangerous response to the Covid pandemic? If you're a senior politician, it's a simple matter to be nominated for a Nobel peace prize, and in Trump's case he found a minor right wing nutcase politician to do it for him. As for the economy, Trump's always seen it as Dow Jones and Wall Street, not in terms of the millions of struggling poor Americans.

Don't waste your time looking for his good points. Trump is the worst president there's ever been, and maybe one of the worst people there's ever been. Roll on his removal.

"He’s dangerous and tapped in to populism and wanted to rule like an unchallenged King.

"

I bet Putin never could imagine that by allegedly interfering in the 2016 election he could have done so much damage!!

After the election, when Trump would not concede, Republican officials, following suit, would not recognize the results. Humor Trump, they said. What harm could come from giving him time to get used to being a loser? Here is the result: Terrorism. The US Capitol under siege. Trump’s troops on the rampage. The United States diminished and disgraced. And Trump, despite pleas from former aides and others, doing little to control the furies he deliberately let loose. He issued one weak tweet asking for calm. He then posted a video in which he asked the rioters to leave the Capitol but reaffirmed the bogus grievance motivating them: the “election was stolen” and “everyone knows this.” He then added, “We love you.” He told the criminal thugs who had overrun Congress that he loved them. He would not repudiate them.

Nothing good from this man

Such a good post, a step guide to the development of facism.

In the early days Trump was mildly amusing, surely no one took him seriously, but they did.

The cognitive dissonance his Republican colleagues experienced just to be able to get on the job provided a vacuum where he went unchallenged..and if he wasn't being challenged by Republicans then his supporters had nothing to disbelieve, the President would always be right.

After last week the worm turned, Republican politicians and traditional supporters are looking at each bewildered..what a cost they (and the rest of the US) has paid for their silence.

It’s a point.... I think you also need to look at who is feeding him so to speak

In the us, those in the senate serve 6 year terms... so those who feel they have to cling closest to trump are those up for re-election in 2022... and those looking at a possible run at president in 2024 who want to be seen as heir to trump..

Because those who serve in congress only have 2 year terms... they are going to be up for challengers within their own party in the next 12-18 months before any midterms contest in 22, they are shit scared of up against a trump endorsed candidate if they go against him.....

That’s why there is much more people in the house willing to ride and die with him.....
