And we will still be a constitutional republic even after the election. The constitution is the law of the land. Not politicians. |

"it is still a pivotal moment for democracy none the less"
What pivotal moment you speaking of ? We get to do this all over again in a year.2022 midterms. It will be same politics no matter who wins those 2 senate seats. |

"States can nullify anything biden puts into place regarding the constitution."
Unless the republican party splits, the possibility of Biden affecting constitutional change is pretty low. Not to mention the barrier of the supreme court. |

Everything will probably be challenged at supreme court level. Regarding constitutional issues. Then 2022 senate races. If it goes
Like what happened in the house this election it might be bigger roadblock in 2022. Biden better come out as a centralist. |

I can see it being a split... I think warnock beats loeffler, but Perdue beating Ossoff
The higher the turn out in black Georgia.. savannah, Marietta, and metro Atlanta.. cobb, Fulton and gywnnette.. the better it is for dems...
Don’t expect either result tonight

If Loeffler and Perdue wins, I will be surprised, The GOP really have fucked themselves in Georgia. The stimulus payments and pressuring election officials is going to hurt them. |

not to mention the notion of the stolen trump vote is begining to work against the GOP if reports of the newly dubbed 'voteflake' trump supporters feeling that voting is pointless is to be believed. |

The slate of republicans running was woefully poor... but the ones on the democrats side weren’t great either..... I think if they had persuaded Stacy Abrams and sally yates to run, or keisha lance bottoms the contests would not be close.....
I always thought warnock had the beating of loeffler... she is a dim stepford wife.... Ossoff is doing better in this run off than he did in the primary |

Warnock has been outstanding, Kelly "I know what it's like to be waiting on a paycheck" Loeffler has been terrible. Hopefully Marjorie Taylor Green's little tantrum will hurt the GOP vote. There was a lot of split ticket voting in Atlanta, in the suburbs people voted for Biden and Perdue. Its going to very interesting, the republicans will lead initially but that may well change. |

"warnock wins"
Ossoff will likely now win the other seat with what is left to count....
Which mean democratic control of the senate.... and the likely death of Mitch McConnell... lol

as things stand now, Mitt Romney would be THE most powerful man in america with the ability to swing the vote in the upper house between the two parties, although if Ossoff gets over the line it's the end of far right dominance in america as we know it ... for the next 2 years anyway. |

Actually the most powerful man in America would likely be Joe Manchin, the senator from West Virginia is the most conservative member of the Democratic Party.... and has been known to be against some of the more liberal stuff....
But there are a few senators in the middle that would have sway,..... manchin, Susan Collins from Maine, Lisa Merkowski from Alaska, Romney ect.....
But as long as they don’t pass anything super liberal... they should be fine....
Interesting to see what would now happen in a DC statehood vote..... that may well give democrats the most power in the long term |

Unless Purdue manages to get his hands on one of those suitcases full of votes we heard about, its not looking good for him. Nytimes has 98% counted, Ossoff leading by 1.1%.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will be Senate Minority Leader Mitch McGonnell.
The moral of the story is stealing an election from Stacy Adams is a bad move. |

Warnock is leading by 1.1%...... Ossoff is currently leading by 0.4%.....
the thing to look out for is IF the margin in the ossoff race is less that than 0.5%, Perdue can ask for a recount.... if it is more than 0.5%... no legal recourse for a recount!
The bad news for Perdue.... it looks like the remaining vote to be counted is in heavily democratic areas..... |

Warnock is home and Ossoff is very likely to be soon as well. The republicans now have their sedition and conspiracy caucus deal with. Hawley and Cruz have nailed their colours to the mast hoping to get an early lead for 2024. |

Fabio ... if it's a clean sweep what constitutional changes do you see as realistic in the first term and do you think biden will push that hard or not? for instance, do you think the dems will initiate a counter gerrymandering operation to redraw voter bounderies or an increase in liberal federal judges or even the holy grail of increasing the size of the supreme court? |

If Biden has any sense that should be “ presidential medal of freedom recipient” Stacey Abrams.....
Give her whatever she wants... head of the DNC, if she wants to run for Georgia governor again then throw every penny behind her.. give her anything she asks for in the next voting rights act!
Hell of a revenge.. being jobbed out of her race she takes down a president and 2 senators... |

Voting rights act will come back.... the affordable care act will be safe and probably expanded, more stimulus, more money spend on infrastructure... I still think DC statehood is coming, but I think Puerto Rico might be still further off...
Supreme Court will likely be left alone.. but I could see a commission into recommendations for changes, definitely more liberal federal judges..
Voting districts are set at the state level
His cabinet picks just got a lot easier to get through.... that is why I don’t think you saw an AG pick yet..... |

"definitely more liberal federal judges..
i was leaning toward this element being key to a gerrymander"
Not really.... basically McConnell stopped all Obama federal judicial nominees in his last 2 years thus creating a backlog, so during the last 4 years they have been in effect filling every judicial position at speed with conservative judge’s....
Basically McConnell made it his mission to ruin Obama legacy... hence waiting out the SCOTUS pick when it was Obama turn but rushing it through when it was a trump pick... |

After Nunes and Jordan getting the medal, it would be a positive step. |

If the last 4 yrs weren’t bad enough today is going to be more embarrassing for the R’s.
What they say in front of a mic is completely different than what was said in all court cases
There have been no cases of fraud, and thats coming from Republicans all across the country
Trump just can not admit defeat
Hopefully Mitch the Reaper and in the closet Pence dont do anything even more idiotic today |
