I was very impressed with the London NYE light display, it was amazing and really up lifting . It was good to see it highlight BLM, but I was surprised there was no mention of Brexit ,

Didn’t see the London lights but the fireworks at Wallace Monument, Stirling were fantastic.

Similarly uplifting

Hopefully next year's NYEs celebrations will be off the scale!

Loving these drone displays. Assume they are computer controlled?

Didn’t see it takes a lot to get me to stay up late these days.

I saw the faux outrage next day though. I can see a point from a money perspective but not content.

with the majority of the UK living under restricted movement for the best part of 10 months now, without much in the way of entertainment other than the television, maybe the televised display should be viewed as a positive way for the country to experience the marking of time and may quite possibly been good for wider mental health levels.

if people want to talk about wastefullness, then the utter debacle of the government handling of the crisis and the obfuscated orgy of disaster capitalism that the cabinet have been indulging themselves in would make a better object of focus

1.5m to give everyone a feel good boost, beats the billions squandered on the brexit project to make us all poorer.

besides ... the thousands of av technicians & allied ents jobs that have been generated plus the scores of hi & lo tech businesses that have been given a lifeline by going ahead with the display. the work was very much needed now as most have had no work at all this year. money well spent i'd say.

Personally I honestly couldn't believe what I was watching...

2020 had been dominated with horrendous news of the death and destruction caused because of the virus, the deaths and riots that's brought about the BLM movement so what better way to try and start a fresh in 2021....

To have a fireworks and drone display with a narration on the BBC all about the horrendous news of the death and destruction caused because of the virus and the deaths and riots that's brought about the BLM movement

Brilliant
