Some terrible human rights abuses in that part of the world. LBTQ Rights in Palestine and the West Bank are non existent bordering on illegal.

More and more Arab nations are coming to terms with the existence of Israel and even doing business with them. Possibly peace in sight.

I posted 2 articles about human rights abuses by the Israel state.

You seem more preoccupied with the rights of the LGBTQ movement in palestine and whilst I fully support your stance.. maybe you should do a separate thread?

Perhaps look at gay rights in other countries too..maybe saudi.

Good luck

Sorry I got sidetracked by the West Bank. Yeah fully aware of Saudi and the many other countries in that area that practice medieval barbarity when it comes to homosexuality.

I did also mention Israel though to keep it on topic hopefully peace will rein. If good relations are established with other countries in the area then hopefully they will have some leverage over how the Palestinians are treated. And perhaps they will even stamp out their corrupt regime and have fair elections.

We can but hope.

Well that’s not strictly true the ICC announced in 2019 that they would also be investigating war crimes committed by Palestine. So I guess they are accused as well.

Do they have to be measured the same to be described as disgusting? In my opinion no I can happily condemn Israel and the Palestinian governments. I would love to see a truly free Palestine. They have been dicked since day dot.

I like this debate and I’m not trolling as I said on the other thread I will join in on this one.

You are probably correct in terms of war crimes in fact undoubtably correct as the Israelis practice asymmetric warfare on civilians.

But whats worse a government that breaches another countries civil rights or a government that breaches its own citizens civil rights?

I’m not British. It’s more a philosophical question to add to the debate. Try to be a bit more open minded in terms of debate and assuming where people come from.

Israel seem to think they have a god given right to the land. The word God in anything is going to cause problems.

People should move beyond the divine. The only hope I see for peace in the Middle East is going to be around business as money talks.

Many others ,saudi arabia for example, have appalling civil rights conditions for the own citizens.

I don’t see American money being infinite now especially with a potentially not as pro administration coming in.

Israel has moved quietly to make peace and trade deals with a fair few influential Middle Eastern countries. It’s sad but the only real countries of note paying anything other than lip service to Palestine are the “pariah” states Qatar and Iran.

In my opinion Israel are horizon scanning.

Good just like it should be you are trying. But the majority said no right ? Israel feels threatened and the Palestine feels threatened so what is the buffer. Israel and the Saudis don't want iran meddling but who does the palestinians have to rely on except iran. It's a never ending cycle.
