"Since when did a television drama about the Royal Family become something a Government Minister should concern himself with? He says Netflix should make it clear that The Crown is a work of fiction. Well the Government weren't bothered about that for the previous three seasons. Why Season 4? For sure, they don't give a fuck about all the Charles and Diana stuff. The whole point of The Crown - in reality - is that it endures, in spite of everything. Hence the title. Could it be, rather, that the Tories want you to think that all the havoc Thatcher wreaked didn't happen? That it, too, is being misrepresented? Netflix should tell Oliver Dowden to fuck off and mind his own business." I've never watched it. I'm guessing Thatcher hasn't been shed in the best of lights? | |||
