If Israel did do it, which most likely they did. I can guarantee the joint chiefs at the Pentagon knew about it beforehand. Israel doesn't tend to act unless we know about it first in situations like this, and we give the ok to proceed. I can see from a strategic pov that the dropping of the bombs on Japan was sold as a way of not losing tens of thousands of young men in taking the mainland, at the time it was militarily the thing to do..
We can look at such things now and history is totally littered with similar acts which we can view from the comfort of our modern lives but at the times they were taken some were in the eyes of those who had the decisions to make, necessary.. |

So basically lionel from what I take from this conversation is it's ok for iran to have nukes and threaten their neighbors. Sunni jewish and shia. No anti anything involved. |

I'll repeat what I said
I think if you have a system in place where some countries have nuclear weapons and others dont,you are storing up problems.
For a start you are giving the likes of iran a genuine grievance.
Personally I'd scrap all nuclear weapons but I cant see that happening somehow. |
