Labour should apologise.

"New report out which states Labour should apologise for Brexit policy.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54896340"
I think yesterday’s men have a lot more to apologise for than Brexit policy - by that I mean Lavery, Trickett and Corbyn... |

Damn right they should apologise! There was a Tory party in utter shambles in power and Labour still couldn't get it together! Their leader was trying to stay 'neutral' on the most important issue of a generation when he and his party should have been out showing their members exactly why voting for Brexit was so self defeating! |

What should they have done? |

Labour had an opinion but sat on the fence so they didn't alienate things. Lets be honest trying to get into power was more important than brexit to them. |

Incorrect
They thought poverty and public services were more important than brexit. |

I have to smile at some of the comments on here.
1 minute people are saying give up Trump you lost. Biden got more votes (which I agree with of course)
Next minute they are whining that they lost the brexit vote by foul means and yet the fight goes on.
Which one is it to be peeps ??
I felt when the Brexit referendum took place that I personally was on the losing side (remain) but feel I've always been pretty conscience clear that now the battle was lost, move on and prepare for the next one. Whereas there are still some that keep wanting to go over and over the same old arguments again and again. Brexit is done.... Move on. It'll probably be more pain to come but that is what people voted for. Pain.........
It's so hypocritical to not move on if one says you are a democrat. Bit of a clue in the name as to why Joe Biden's party is called the Democrats. |

So frustrating when people pay no attention to the context of these things and merely turn them into over simplified slogans.

Labour would never ever have convinced me of such. The more they try the more I move away from them. Brexit was long overdue

Cant argue with that.
I think the labour party are deeply split and i dont see the point of dragging brexit up again.
The biggest mistake they made was people cared more for healthcare than Brexit.
Saying that when people say they fucked up over Brexit, they never say what they should have done. |

Isn't that what you've just done by cutting out some of my post so the context is lost ? Quite easy to do really isn't it ?

I didn't cut out anything thank you.
When a democratic system is broken, it's not democratic to just accept it. It's democratic to want it to be made to work properly. |

Selecting part of your post doesn't change that you conflated 2 separate unrelated events.
Brexit to date, has been a shitshow, badly thought out and woefully implemented. It had been a textbook case how to not do a democracy. The blame rests entirely with the english political parties. |

Perhaps it was an accident but you check and you'll see you cut out my last bit which changes the meaning completely. |

Not really, they are both democratic votes, in one remainers lost & they will whine forever. In the other Republicans lost &.........
We don’t know what will come with Brexit same as we don’t know what will come with Biden.
Seems pretty much the same to me

Trump lost fair and square. Brexit vote was won via lies and fraudulent donations.
Biden will be better than Trump, although unlikely to be good.
True we don't know how bad brexit will be. But the £200 billion wasted so far this year isn't a good start. |

But had Trump won guess what, he would have won with lies & fraudulent donations.
Brexit loses are moot now & a drop in the ocean, what went before as in balance of trade etc has gone, it’s unlikely to return in the same volume for years if at all.
The time to get it done is now as it’ll be like taking a Stanley knife to one leg while having the other chopped off with a chain saw.
They both hurt but doubt you’d be noticing one of them..

No. If Trump won fair and square, like last time, he won fair and square.
How can you say the Brexit losses are mute. Imagine what we could have done with £200 billion.
Could be carbon neutral
Could have funded the NHS
Could have helped the most vulnerable people in society.
Are we down to "Brexit is good because £200 billion is a drop in the ocean"
The pro leave argument gets weaker and weaker. Still. Respect for holding onto it for dear life, against all reason, logic and fact. |
