It’s a sad state that a country as rich as the uk still has people on the streets In my town there’s plenty of empty buildings like office blocks that would make ideal places for people to come in of the streets perhaps local councils should approach the land lords and strike a deal with them to use the buildings some have been empty for years it’s a shame they just locked up and could be used |

You missed the bit where they will be offered help and support to integrate into the UK first. Deportation would be the end of a very long process. |

I think that this country offers many resources for asylum seekers to get support.
Whether they accept that support or not, is not down to the UK. |

"The tories plan to round up the foreign homeless from the EUand deport them. Does anyone know if the EU plan to deport the British homeless living on their streets.Where to that is the problem"
My understanding is they legally cannot if the EU citizen in question is known to local authorities and has been issued Residence through the British EU Settlement Scheme. This means the individual in question is a EU citizens legally residing in the UK and is known and protected under international non- EU law.
Basically because we have not committed to information sharing with the EU on criminality and vulnerable persons. If we have/do, we can use a mechanism we had access to as EU members, which is to remove EU citizens who are economically inactive. We just never used it, or only when they were disruptive.
In doing so we have actually given up control to nobody, there's no winner or loser there if you want to look at it that way.
If the government stopped playing to the tune of right wing pundits who are generating an uninformed mob mentality, they could agree to this and actually salvage Brexit so we at the least stop breaking international law. |
