I assume these are taking place behind closed doors. Should they be covered by live TV?

Putting aside the differences these are issues that impact on millions here in the U.K. and Europe - those involved in the negotiations are our servants and should be acting in all our interests.

Naive I know, but?

They should be acting in all our interests but that would mean cancelling the whole project.

Of course behind closed doors.

Covid-19 has been beyond the governments wildest wet dream. What a huge epic story to distract us all from what they're doing.

This has blown out of the water their usual "look at some brown people coming over here in inflatable boats" stories.

They're going to every length possible to keep the public out of what's going on. To maximize the Brexit gains for themselves.

I'm looking forward to Brexit being behind us. Sadly, I don't think it will happen in our life time.

Rees Mogg mentioned that we should have recovered from it in about 50 years time.

Why just these negotiations. I understand they are important but such meetings go on all the time between many countries that impact millions of people. They are not shown live on tv

Two sides involved in this too, apart from what the uk might want to do i don't think the EU would want the negotations aired on tv either, it is not how they normally conduct there dealings, certainly from past history anyway.

Nah, who wants to watch some boring stuff on tv about bendy bananas and wonky veg, snoozefest.

As far as I am concerned, brexit happened, and mister boil in the bag has to deliver it.

Yeah for sure. I wouldn't want to watch it.

And Mr boil in the bag (haha, I don't know why you called him that, but I like it), is going to do whatever suits him and his Eton pals regardless.

While they are negotiating a deal, I hope this is included.

Hopefully the UK airlines, have moved their head quarters to a European country.

At the moment, the UK's right to fly, not just to the rest of the European Union but to 17 other countries it has deals with, is governed by EU law. Could planes be left grounded if the country leaves the EU without a deal?

Countries have sovereignty over their own airspace, so international air travel relies on a series of agreements under which one state gives another consent to enter and land planes in its territory.

If the UK left without a deal, that would end. UK carriers' EU operating licences would become invalid and the legal basis for air travel between the UK and other member states would disappear.
