There's a v relevant quote, often attributed to Twain:
"It's easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled."
It could explain a lot about situations like the Brexit lies and how people react to them even now. |

Having not been involved with, or interested in the previous trade arrangements between mainland UK and NI, I can honestly say I don't feel particularly agrieved with the new arrangments or with the fact the government has had to go back on a statement they previously made.
Blowing on about how the lies and the pain of the lies is affecting me is of no consequence.
Why dont you have a dig around and come back with current information on how the TSS is being received by NI businesses.
That's a much more constructive discussion to have. That way we all learn something, instead of flogging the dead horse of "oh the Tories have U turned/lied again" |

You don't like what the other £300 million is being spent on?
Well, I didn't think it was supposed to cost us anything. Has Boris lied again??
You don't want money to be spent on "support peace, prosperity and reconciliation projects on the island of Ireland." ?
What, you mean to, negate the effects of what Boris said categorically would happen? That stuff you mean??
The TSS will mean there are no additional requirements/burdens on NI businesses.
But, we are having to spend money on something we were CATEGORICALLY told, would not happen??
Money well spent ...
On something you were told wasn't going to happen. I don't like to labour the point, but....
there isn’t any additional administrative stuff to deal with - It’s not permanent, and it’s an acceptable temporary solution that allows business to continue.
Are NI businesses up in arms about TSS???
Makes you wonder what else they said wouldn't happen but will...eh?
Oh, just wait.....they will.
I admire your ability to conveniently overlook you have been lied to.
How are NI businesses reacting to TSS?
I don't know, I'll admit it. But it hasn't started yet. Now, you admit you were lied to. Can you aknowledge that? I think it's a bit painful for you to do so.
That way we all learn something, instead of flogging the dead horse of "oh the Tories have U turned/lied again"
Last I saw was the NI business community welcomed the TSS and were happy this particular potential problem has a solution. More problems in the pipeline I'm sure but at least they are being tackled and solved
Who is paying for this
From what I read the government are paying
The government? I wonder where they will get the money from??
Me and you as per usual I would suspect
Another Brexit bonus "
A problem solved too. More to be tackled |
