Hope that your dual naionality passport application goes well lol.
But. It's never going to happen. Nicky will never be Queen of Scots.

He is a very nice chap, good to talk to - but is not the most charismatic person I’ve met.
He was an excellent diplomat.

So you agree that russians like to interfere in the UKs democratic vote?
Perhaps, after the release of the Russian report, we should have a think about the consequences of their interference?

"I never thought i would ever say it !
But yes wee Nicola has been awsome.
Says with gritted teeth."
Awesome is an overused word and it does not apply in this case.
What she has done is to have been very clear about treating this as a public health issue first and an economic issue second - and not a political issue at all (despite her haters' best efforts to make it one).
Whether that has been the right approach, or not, she has stuck to it and been consistent. That's why she's been praised for her leadership; which has been similar, in some ways, to that of Ardern and Merkel.
However, as the OP suggests, doing better than Boris is a very, very low bar - and no other politician needs to be awesome to do so.
Merely adequate would be nice. So, behind that podium? Jeremy Hunt.
I know what he did during his time in Cabinet - but he is someone with a full understanding of the NHS (which Hancock clearly lacks); and he's more pragmatic than ideological. |

She has been very clear with her route map to exit lockdown. She has stuck to it and moved along it at the right pace based on the situation at that time.
For those who haven't seen it, just google "scotland route map covid pdf" and check out the final 10 pages or so. Does England have anything similar?
She continues with the daily briefings. She is informative and comes across as someone who genuinely cares about difficult position that she has been forced to put the public in and the sacrifices we have made.
I think she has been excellent throughout and the vast majority of Scotland do too. Many of them are not SNP voters either.
I have never voted SNP. I voted to remain in the UK. However, given the current situation, both with handling of covid by johnson and disaster that brexit will be, I now believe that independence is probably the best for Scotland.
After covid we need to "build build build". If the UK believe they can do that then why do all those who have said in the past that "Scotland can't survive without the english tax payer" not believe that an independent Scotland could use it's new position to attract businesses and form new relationships to become a successful independent country.

I was always impressed with her in those tele debates..I remember she absolutely destroyed some UKIP fuckwit.Compare her concise,to The point, approach to Johnson's bumbling nonsense.
It's going to be interesting to see how long he lasts. There seemed to be some shenagigans behind the scenes a while ago when Hancock was left out to dry.
Hunt seems to be a bit of an outsider and had been v critical of them are covid.
I hope they tear each other apart.

There's no reason Scotland couldn't be a successful independent country; if it were ever to become independent.
Scotland has about the same GDP and population as New Zealand. They manage just fine, on the other side of the planet, thousands of miles from their nearest trade markets, with a dollar worth 52p and similar, though fewer, natural resources.
So, why would Scotland not be viable; especially with a land border to the world's 7th largest economy (rUK), plus the prospect of a possible return to EU membership?
Would all the other countries hate us so much they wouldn't want to trade with us? |

Very happy for Scotland to decide their own future. If they did become independant and join the EU does that mean a hard border on the Scottish / English border |

Exactly. Scotland is more than capable to go its own way. There are many smaller countries with fewer resources that do absolutely fine. Of course the English will try to scare you with their project fear . Another two or three years of Boris and Scotland will be ready to go for it.

Well hope its less problematic as keep hearing how that will be a disaster. Hopefully it will not be tariffs too if some sort of deal is done. Stunning country. Only been a few times but loved it
I love the Scottish sense of humour. Great people. Very welcoming country that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Down to earth people who live in a stunning place. No arrogance over there. Shitty weather but the scenery is well worth it.
Only problem being we have a massive chip on our shoulders, which some think is brushed off by becoming independent .....
They are wrong - the chip will always be there ... ,,,,, would that be the same chip the little englanders have who want to leave the EU ?
No

" ... all those who have said in the past that "Scotland can't survive without the English tax payer" not believe that an independent Scotland could use it's new position to attract businesses and form new relationships to become a successful independent country.

I think Scotland is one of the most loved countries around the world. An independent Scotland in the EU (if it joined) would have a different currency and hard border with the remaining UK. This could be ironic as if the UK gets a good agreement with the EU allowing frictionless trade it takes away that particular problem for Scotland and could make independence more likely |

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can't have frictionless trade if you are out of the single market. That's what these lorry parks are being set up, even if we get a 'good' deal, there will still have to be extra checks on goods. That's only from a few articles I have read. |

Maybe incorrect phrase I should really have said as frictionless as possible. The better the deal the better the chance of Scottish independence or at least an obstacle overcome. The worse the deal / no deal makes the obstacle worse for Scottish independence |

1+1=2 but not everybody’s world apparently. ??" ,,,,.surely ,even those who voted leave in the referendum and Tory in 2019 , for the genuine benefits of leaving the EU ( blue passports , construction jobs while we build a lorry park on the M20 and a painted plane ) must appreciate that had it not been for the votes cast by the little englanders they would have lost |

There is a huge difference between the English /French border and the english/Scottish border. A 20+ mile stretch of water that causes a bottle neck. |

Yes don't recall a sea between England and Scotland. I suspect the land border could pose its own problems. Many small crossing points bit like NI and of course the possibility of tarrifs |

At one point not long - i did not like Wee Nicola one bit.
Again today she wins me over not for her views about splitting from us here in blighty.
But for how she speaks, mostly truthfully and deeply cares about other people.
This sadly our BoZo self centered leader lacks - " genuine " human empathy.
Boris your a joke and our leader Dom Cummings was not even elected ...... |

Right so at the moment Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland take more tax revenue than they pay.
Northern Ireland - judging by how Apple has launched the Republic into the top 10 wealthiest nations in the world, I’m pretty sure Northern Ireland will do very nicely joinIng up with the South. Especially given how well educated they are.
Scotland - they’ll get the majority of the oil and the best fishing grounds along with lots of friendly nations wanting to trade and exploit the again well educated population. (The SNP May have f**ked up the education by then judging by how things are going)
But again looking good
Wales - sorry guys you’re stuck because your arsehole neighbours England sold your industries down the river to turn us into a service country and you’ve not got a lot left going for you. No fault of yours.
England - the nation of shopkeepers (not anymore)
Oh yes we clean each other’s phones (you hitchhikers guide fans will get that) and work in sandwich shops but industry wise it’s not looking great. Yes we have the foreign owned car industry but not sure for how long.
No we’ll be left with Boris and his lying, cheating, thieving scumbag of a cabinet to watch slowly destroy what’s left of this country to please his paymasters and feed his ego.
I’m not a Corbyn fan but who we have now is beyond belief. How did so many of us allow this absolute bullshit merchant to come to power? He’s been sacked from every previous proper job!,
Hopefully a few sensible conservatives will get those back stabbing knives they have handy, out for him soon but given the atrocious standard of our “yes sir” MP’s I’m doubtful.
Strange how we decided to be a service centred economy and yet are now building barriers to those countries our services were designed for!
We’ve won the shoot yourself in the foot gold medal! Erm it might be made of brass btw! Sorry we sold off the gold. Another political genius.
Rant over..
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
