I'm not going to take part in some kind of public virtue signaling because of peer pressure, but if you dare to say this it's immediately picked out and you are challenged as to why you won't in an effort to make out that if you don't do this you must have an issue with something that is supposedly anti racist.

There are plenty of gestures of respect shown back home. I have always shied away from them. Even during times when I have been forced to do so, I felt mentally uncomfortable doing it. It is a personal choice in the end.

If someone claims to not take the knee ever in life, it is as simple as not doing yoga or not going fishing or not playing golf or not stopping the car and saluting the flag. Do you go around asking people why they won't do it for everything? Hence I told the question was weird. Then you followed it up with questions on bowing to the queen and clapping for NHS. You clearly wanted to group someone into far left/far right and point out their hypocrisies. Surprise. There are plenty of people who do not identify themselves with any of the political ideologies.

I'm not going to take part in some kind of public virtue signaling because of peer pressure, but if you dare to say this it's immediately picked out and you are challenged as to why you won't in an effort to make out that if you don't do this you must have an issue with something that is supposedly anti racist. Did you get off your sofa and just took a knee or what? Sounds strange I understand F1 drivers do it for marketing and stuff, but random nobodies actually do it too? Have you ever observed a minutes silence, on your own? In your house? Did it feel strange? Have you ever clapped the NHS, outside your house, did it feel strange? I can understand why Boris might clap for good publicity but do random nobodies actually do it too? No, never Random nobodies have never clapped for the NHS or held a minutes silence? "I've never taken a knee for anybody and I can't see I'll be starting anytime soon. What is it about ‘taking the knee’ that makes you feel uncomfortable? Such a weird question. Does everyone have to give an explanation for not taking the knee these days? oh if you dont jump on the bandwagon your no better than the s.s in some peoples eyes. Bandwagon? It is a simple question really, why does taking the knee make you ‘uncomfortable ‘? Why are you putting uncomfortable in quotation marks? Has someone said they feel uncomfortable doing it? I used quotation marks as I don’t really know why they won’t take the knee Ok bit random. Is it? How else would you describe it? Would you take the knee? Well usually if you using quotation marks it means somebody had said it. And then it turns out only you said it so looks like you were inferring something that wasn’t actually there. So yes random. And in the context of a demo or silence then yes I would. I feel uncomfortable with the ways BLM are going now though so I wouldn’t be going on any demos after my last local one. Do you think footballers etc should be taking the knee before matches It is well within their rights to take the knee. At the same time footballers who do not want to take the knee have the right to not take the knee. How hard is it to understand? Can you highlight where and when I said it wasn’t a persons right to take the knee? I have only asked why a person won’t . They should have put it in quotation marks It doesn’t exist so they can’t, are you a member of the grammar police Ah ok so if it doesn’t exist you don’t quote it cool. Why does it matter? Is this an exam? It ok dude I didn’t realise it was a grammar error for that I apologise. It came across that you were trying to infer people at that point were uncomfortable. Now you have backtracked and said it was down to grammar I feel shamefaced for taking a seemingly cheap shot. On with the thread. Indeed, would you take the knee? They don't have to give an explanation for everything they don't do. Where did I say they did? Then what was the point of that question? If someone claims to not take the knee ever in life, it is as simple as not doing yoga or not going fishing or not playing golf or not stopping the car and saluting the flag. Do you go around asking people why they won't do it for everything? Hence I told the question was weird. Then you followed it up with questions on bowing to the queen and clapping for NHS. You clearly wanted to group someone into far left/far right and point out their hypocrisies. Surprise. There are plenty of people who do not identify themselves with any of the political ideologies. It is an open forum that is about taking the knee, so it is relevant to the OP? Why would I ask about yoga or fishing? I asked a question, I didn’t demand an answer. " There are plenty of stuff which people don't do and threads for discussing them. Do you go around asking everyone why they don't do it? You have all the rights to ask question. But it was clearly a bait to brand someone racist or belonging to the far right. Looks like majority of the posters here just found that out. Your interest in bringing in topics like clapping for NHS and bowing for the queen clearly shows that.

I aint interesting in the taking the knee conversation... i am interested in the acknowledgement of racism and how you can play your part in changing that! some people aren't interested in that as they see it as a threat to them...
