High Court Case
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm sure you'll all be delighted to know that over 6,000 patriots have crowd funded a legal case against the fascist government and on July 2nd, their fake science and lies will go before the high court.
1. The government will have to explain why they used the Public Health Act 1984 instead of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 or the Coronavirus Act 2020 to enforce their lockdown policy. That'll be fun because the real answer is they didn't want to do the type of lockdown we had and so didn't plan for it.
2. They'll have to justify the science behind the 5 tests for lifting lockdown and whether they take account of the economic and social impacts of lockdown. Spoiler alert: they don't
3. Whether the government violated human rights for liberty, family life, education and property. Given how low risk schools are, then you can expect another 'L' for closing them. |

What a waste of time bringing this to the courts. You can't undo it and it smacks of political chagrin. Concentrate on bringing the country back to life!

We are sleepwalking into 1984. "
Wasnt that like 36 years ago?

Is this the same challenge being spearheaded by Simon Dolan? A man worth over £200m but still asking for crowd funding from the general public... |

Good - it’s a disgrace how power was abused to enforce “lockdown” whatever that was knowing that the population are stooopid and wouldn’t notice
.
We have been going about things pretty normally , we don’t need fake news and made up laws to stay healthy just common sense |

So is the crowd funding the defence too "

"So, less money for the NHS, more money for the legal profession. Why?
Why is it less for the NHS?"
Well if money is spent on an expensive legal defences (Q/c and huge team of barristers etc) it can't be spent elsewhere. Maybe millions. |

People vote for based on a party manifesto, yet the 3 largest government decisions of the past 20 years have all been absent from said manifestos and done on the fly, once the party has power. In that time, central government net worth has gone from -£292bn to -£1.8trn. That is money that the sheeple and their lambs owe to the 1%. That is legalised theft. |

Irrelevant. Don't say "it's democracy" and it's what we voted for. No we did not vote on the iraq war, the bank bailout or lockdown. |

Irrelevant. Don't say "it's democracy" and it's what we voted for. No we did not vote on the iraq war, the bank bailout or lockdown.
Of course it's Democracy - you voted at the election didn't you - That's called Democracy !
So I vote for a party to do A, they go and do B, but all is well. Ok interesting logic.
Then get enough people to vote for the party you want and call them out when they deliver anything but what you voted them for . . . either way it is called Democracy . . . I kinda' think it's a whole lot better than a Republic or Communism or a Dictatorship or even McDonalds

But . . . the 'People' Vote for the Government they get. If it's not the one you wanted that's called Democracy. Get enought people to the side of the Government your 'sheeple' want and bingo !!! Democracy Served.

"I'm sure you'll all be delighted to know that over 6,000 patriots have crowd funded a legal case against the fascist government and on July 2nd, their fake science and lies will go before the high court.

"So, less money for the NHS, more money for the legal profession. Why?
Why is it less for the NHS?
Well if money is spent on an expensive legal defences (Q/c and huge team of barristers etc) it can't be spent elsewhere. Maybe millions.
Where Is the money coming from?
Clue is in the 'Crowd Funding' words - keep up.
The taxpayers pay for the legal defence of the government. Me and you. "
Only if the defence looses. If they successfully defend the case they can claim their costs from the other side.
I don't know the merits of this case either way but surely it must be right that people can bring a case against the government if they believe it is acting illegally.

You're absolutely correct, sometimes decisions do need to be made which were not in the manifesto. Sometimes those decisions also have to be challenged too and it's not always possible or a good idea to just wait until the next GE.

Considering all the money the government have spent on anti terrorism I can't believe that there was no protocol for such an event, chemical and biological warfare still exists. And yet no government in the world are prepared for an event such as this. Why is that? |

Because terrorism is a certainty this was a possibility. The Tories didn't want to spend money preparing for a possibility. |

The case will rest on the notion that we could know ahead of time the exact outcome of the virus (of which we didn't even know existed before 2019).
Seeing as how that's not going to be the case, it won't even get out the door.
Along with various other issues such as the entirety of parliament on all sides backing the move to lockdown, along with most other nations, you'd be hard pressed to find some legal loophole being justification enough to conclude anything in their favour.
How's that court case to prosecute Tony Blair for war crimes btw? I mean if you can't get a man who literally went to war over a known lie, I don't know what you expect from the current situation.

You might want to search the "good day for bad news" releases of the Blair Government on the afternoon of 9/11.
Power to use any force necessary including shooting anyone refusing to comply with stay in place orders.
It was for use during a bio-outbreak so lucky it wasn't brought into force recently.
Not sure of the term facist in the OP as true facism of history does not really compare to BJ's outfit.
Although harsh, the lockdown has stopped countless people dying and reduced numbers of infection.
You are lucky no-one cane in the night and nailed your doors and windows shut if suspicion of a family member being infected as is the case in North Korea.
They had little choice and for anyone who disagrees - tough. |

Hindsight is wonderful. The lockdown worked! Something like 1 in 350 dead is the outcome of what you are implying should have happened if you look to New York.
Are you saying prudence is too expensive
"
I'm not using my hindsight to make any comment about what happened in the past. In general, but with some reservations, I've backed the government. What I am doing is using my foresight to predict how millions of people are going to feel when their livelihoods disappear.

So OP, what exactly is it that these so called "patriots" hope to achieve by this Court action?
The only guaranteed winners of this action will be the legal elite who will receive several £million of government (i.e. Tax payers') money.
The same legal elite who help whoever is in power, whether fascist or loony left, to surpress the masses.
If you screw the government, you screw us all because we end up having to pay the bill. |

Congratulations on wasting our tax money.
I would have been behind it, if the relatives of the 40 thousand who died from coronavirus had put a court case together.
That would be worth crowd funding. |
