Anyone think he’s finally getting a pasting following on from originally slagging off footballers only to have Marcus Rashford put his hand in his pocket to find a government project?
Boris is now trying to take credit for it?
What a cretin |

Ok everyone; I don’t understand how Corbyn or Abbott (or anyone else) would have done anything differently and use that as any form of argument. Parallel universes?
As for leaving the EU........ thanks for your constant reminder but I was asking if after telling footballers to do ‘their bit’, that one of them has and helped to fund something that local government (councils) have always done.
Then have the audacity to do a U turn and say it was their idea all the time ?
As for the bore off bit? If that’s your way of any form of debate then you have my pity.
Peace out! |

I thought, being a remainer, I was supposed to be the one who didn't support my own country. But, here you are actively cheering for British workers to lose their jobs. Do you ever stop and think to wonder how you came to support such a ridiculous position?? |

It pisses me off the free school meals. Who has a child and as soon as they reach school age they can't afford to feed them?
If it was just for kids with parents that earned under a certain amount then I'd be happy with that. But to give every child from nursery to primary 4 free school meals is ridiculous. They have done away with the support teachers through lack of funding. I think the schools would benefit more from extra support staff than a fee school dinner that most kids put in the bin anyway.
They have no common sense. My kids get a jotter with ten spelling words. You would think the teacher would right them on the board and make the children copy them in to their jotters. Nope, they print them, cut it into a little A5 size and glue it on the page. How much more resources and time does that take? That's just one example.
Then they plead poverty and try and raise money for the school. Every other day your paying for something. Whether it's non uniform day or even better. You make cakes send them in and the kids can buy them.
It's not just the school s. I doctors surgery . Nothing wrong with the chairs but they needed to spend the budget or they won't get as much next year. So we'll spend it on new chairs.
Sometimes I think having a private company to run these government facilities would be better. People that can budget properly and make improvements rather than waste it. |

Have the children. But know you need to make sacrifices for them. I've been a single parent. Benifits , pay your rent, council tax, dentist, prescriptions, and give you money to live on. If you get a job they only expect you to pay one day of child care. It's hard having kids. Harder for people like myself that hasn't got family support. |

"Also I think that having chats with people and hearing another side to a story is really the Democracy I like to live in.
Having your mind changed by an alternative viewpoint! Imagine that.
You realise he initially thought letting kids go hungry at the time of national crises was a spiffing idea
Were do you get this from!
Numerous sources today..The guardian reporting the arch bishops of Canterburys charity was going to step in.
And yet you never post them . . . Post a quote From Boris or anyone else in Government or opposition saying that they or he:
'initially thought letting kids go hungry at the time of national crises was a spiffing idea '
Ha ha..yep he he gonna come out with that isnt he?
What was the rationale behind the original idea then?
So you just made it up then!
Throw away sentences aren't truth, they are just throw away sentences.

I said that wasn't true and show me where he or anyone else said that . . . So I said that's what 'you are' saying prove he or anyone else said it. Co's you can't make truth out of throw away sentences.
Ok.
Said rashford hadn't have got involved.
And the free school meals wouldn't have happened.
What would be the result of that?
You can't extrapolate what somebody thought before something was brought to someones intention - well unless you are just trying to say nasty things without foundation.
Rashford asked him to chat, they did and now it's part of Policy.
I asked a simple question
If the scheme was not in place over the summer holidays .what would be the likely result?
No. you said that . . .
'Boris thought it was a spiffing idea that kids would go hungry'
I've asked a question twice now and got no answer.
Okay here is your answer:
Children would not have have meal vouchers - that's for sure.
Boris and Rachford Chated - now they are.
Now you answer: How that PROVES Boris thought it a spiffing idea to let kids go hungry over summer?
Would children have gone hungry?
You see when you make a decision you look at the consequences of that decision.no?
Therefore if boris knew kids would go hungry he presumably thought this was a good idea?
No?
where does he say he knew that kids would go hungry?
Read my 1st line.
If the vouchers were not available would kids go hungry?"
Already answered that. YOU won't answer how you knew Boris THOUGHT that kids would go hungry and that it was a spiffing idea !! Answer it???? |

"As my kids are way past this stage I am not up to date with the policy
Is this the first year that the vouchers would not be available"
I thought it was always in place but I was mistaken.
School dinner vouchers are available for people on benefits or low pay (I think)
However obviously this hasnt happened recently.
When it was suggested that the gmnt provide dinners over the summer holidays it was originally rejected.
That's my take on it. |

So are you saying he did not say that quote then or did say it.
Are these numerous sources quoting fact
My exact words were he initially thought kids go hungry was a spiffing idea.
Note the word..thought.
I never said he said those words..who on their right mind would.
how do you know he 'THOUGHT' that?
Beat me to it lol
lol
Does seem to be a lot of mind readers here.
Still if the original policy was flawed and the government has listened to criticism I find that a good thing.
Why was it flawed?
You dont think think it's a bit of a concern the advice came from a footballer and no one of his many advisers?"
I said IF the policy was flawed and the government listened to criticism I find it good. I prefer that to them not doing so regardless of who criticizes them.
Better to listen and change where needed than not listen at all |

The vouchers were introduced when schools closed as a result of the pandemic. They were then extended over the Easter and half term holidays - this is the first time meals have been funded over a holiday period....by any government. There was never going to be a cut, the debate was whether to continue with the extra. |

Anybody who thinks Boris u turned because he listened to Rashford seriously needs a reality check. He u turned because it was rapidly turning into a PR disaster and the pressure had been growing all day. 3 hours before the U turn, ministers were on the radio saying they were not going to change their minds. It scares me how people cannot see this... |

It is interesting how Marcus Rashford has caused enough Tory MPs to consider voting against the Govt and supporting a Labour bill to provide Free School Meal vouchers. Clearly BJ finally realised that being embarassed by Marcus Rashford is not as bad as losing a vote in Parliament.
Maybe now the Tory backbenchers have realised they can pressure BJ, we will start to see a democratic Govt rather than his current Presidential style.
He is clearly still an imbecile, it is just now dawning on his own party how much of aliability he (& Cummings) has become |

Exactly. Earlier, Boris said he was not aware of Marcus Rashford's campaign until today (Tuesday 16.06.20); that seems highly unlikely, given he'll get a press briefing every morning.
But if we assume, for once, he isn't lying; then we have to wonder why he didn't know his government were prepared to allow children in poverty the very real risk of enduring malnourishment.
It's either that or he did know and didn't care. Which is entirely possible. |

"It pisses me off the free school meals.
I think it's vouchers for 6 weeks for poorer families.
Great action by this footballer |

"Anybody who thinks Boris u turned because he listened to Rashford seriously needs a reality check. So Boris is either lying or he just didn't care?
Knowing him it's both |

When a pm can't even do a u turn which let's be honest some will say 'oh that's OK he listened'without making it worse by then trying to pretend that he was only aware of the whole thing after he saw the media piece done by Marcus Rashford..
In a word, bollocks.. |

I wish there were enough famous folk to start public appeals for all sorts of social and charitable causes maybe that would mean and end to food banks , homelessness , domestic and child abuse to name but a few .
I’m not saying there are no funds for these things more is needed to minimise them . |

3 Severe Thunderstorms in the Midlands 3 nights in a row . . . We've had lightning, thunderclaps - 4 directly over my house . . . the cat was frantic !!!
What are the Government doing about it? Did Boris know about it beforehand? Did his advisors tell him, why didn't he listen? The Met office seem to know it's going to happen again tonight, why doesn't Boris?

Did the thunderstorms cause 42,000 people to die? |

No. And neither did Boris. |

When rashford phoned boris he told him he had been raised by a single mother and knew what it was like to struggle.
The narrative is boris was so moved he did a u turn.
However it must be a completely different boris johnson who described the children of single parents as "I'll raised, ignorant and aggressive illegitimate children"

It's good that we can laugh at it but, I do find it so worrying that intelligent people can't see through this bloke. When asked, they can't give one bit of legislation or political achievement that Boris has pulled off. It's quite remarkable, the cult of Boris. |

I suppose it's possible he could have changed since then (though probably not for the better); and he certainly knows about illegitimate children.
However, the usual reason for making a U-turn is that you know you've fucked up and you're going in the opposite direction you should be.
The fact that he needed that pointed out to him, on an issue of children going hungry, is why he's unfit to govern. |
