Now bare with me I understand the title of this thread is provocative, I dont want this to turn into a slanging match. Just wish to create a healthy conversation.

I just think its interesting that most of the countries that have suffered the most due to Covid19 have right wing governments. The UK, US, India, Italy, Brazil.

There must be something in that. Im just not sure what.

I think it’s down to more socially responsible populations and density.

Definitely a big factor, but investment in key infastructure, and regarding trump and bolsanaro, actually acknowledging the risk and need to be careful is equally critical.

actually i think it is the "authoritarian" figures at the top of those countries rather than the actual politics....

that and those people tend to have a rather "fractious" relationship with science..... as in they know better than the scientists....

Does giving a Nazi salute at the Cenotaph, whilst proclaiming your love for England, count as a right wing failing?

Or were left wing protesters doing it, too?

Perhaps they are fed up at seeing P.C. Keith Blakelock hacked to death with machetes..

or W.P.C. Yvonne Fletcher being gunned down..

or Jonathan Zito being stabbed through the eye?

After the hate crime stabbing this week, I hope the Jewish community is waking up to the threat from both sides.

Still alive and kicking it would seem, but the biggest headline today is they arrested the guy who took a piss on the police officer's memorial. Maybe the guy who stabbed the orthodox jew didn't fit the narrative.
