"Response from the Government to the Sunday Times claims.
https://healthmedia.blog.gov.uk/2020/04/19/response-to-sunday-times-insight-article/"
Interesting reading.
Is this normal for the government to address press reports in this way?
I wonder if the relationship between either big C or little c conservatives and the Times / Rupert Murdoch will sour. |

I think government respond where they feel it is necessary.
Only 24 hours earlier they felt it necessary to respond in a similarly detailed way to a different piece in the FT, which gathered a huge amount of follow up comment on Twitter. Very unusual for Government to respond in such a robust way to Twitter chatter, however, like the response to the Sunday Times piece, they felt it absolutely necessary.

Fair enough. I've never looked for their response to this kind of thing before.
I should.
Thanks for sharing. |

Can't believe the Tory party are using an official government website to rebut a newspaper article.
I don't know who wrote it but some of it sounds like it was written by a 15 year old
"Response - This virus has hit countries across the world. It is ridiculous to suggest that coronavirus only reached the UK because the Health Secretary and not the PM chaired a COBR meeting."

This reads like a political response to political accusations.
The right wing press is not giving the UK government an easy ride on this at all.
It is interesting. No idea if there is any particular motivation. The government have somehow managed to put them in opposition to NHS staff which is not a position that any press is likely to go for given the national mood and already plunging advertising. |

It might be Boris no longer wants to sell the NHS
After they saved his life
The Sunday Times & the Mail have attacked the government .
It seems the story party want there puppet Gove in charge before Boris causes a real fuss. |
