Does this work almost anywhere eg gran canaria ?

I spend quite a lot of time abroad. As far as I can see, it does work, but the chance of finding someone nearby who is on this site is quite slim.

In Paris, I found two people less than 50 miles away, sadly not people I was looking for.......

We have used it in Gran Caneria and it worked fine
