This not just mobile but perhaps across the the whole site.

It would be very useful if you could send a message to several people at the same time ( organising a meet etc). The danger of course is that this is perfect for spamming so some restrictions would need to be in place.

Maybe no more than 5 recipient's and they have to be on your friends list?

Very good idea. Definitely useful for arranging a group meet etc
