They do hourly corridor walks to check for noise in Premier Inns and log all noise including who has their TV's on!! 
I had to go to reception last weekend to get a room swap when our air-con had a shitfit at 5.00am and found a creepy guy walking in the corridor. I challanged him and he told me he worked there. Spoke to reception and they told me he was doing noise checks and I could see the hourly log sheet on the desk detailing who came in late and who had their TV's on.....
