Evening fellow Fabs,
There has been a lot of noise about a getting a social started in derby.
I know the attic is there for socials (and all the extras ??) but I think there are a lot of folk maybe a little to scared to take that as thier first step.
I know there used to a regular social in a cerian wetgerspoons in town a while back. I'd like to start a regular one up again.
I've spoken to a few places in regards to getting an area just for the social, so far I have a pub in Burton town centre who'd be happy to let the upstairs area used, if enough people are game.
If I get rough head count, I'm sure I could also find a place in derby who'd be happy to accommodate, if the numbers are right.
There is no date set obviously, but an evening during the week seems the best idea at present.
Any extra input would be appreciated.

"Ok so how can we get this organised ? Any suggestions"
Maybe ask the OP, it seems that anyone who tries to start a Social in Derby has quite a bit of interest, then doesn't respond....
There was another couple, I can't remember their name, who tried the same thing about a year ago. There was plenty of interest, but nothing ever happened, in fact the last time I looked at the thread, most of the posters had gone unlos lol |

I am very sorry at the delay in getting back. I checked back for a whole week after posting and nobody had got back to me, so i thought it was dead.
But following a message I was told it was chocka... So.
Ive spoken to another member who used to go to a lot of the Derby socials, and has gave me some advice.
Firstly i would like to do a head count, to see exactly who would be up for attending. its something i would like to be a monthly thing, so if you could inbox me if you are wishing to attend a social that would be great. We can the sort the logistics of which day would be best.
The place will be in derby and not burton, it is between 2 at the present, but again, numbers could change that.
Thanks

If some one wants to help organise it I’m sure we be happy to help sort it and maybe do it once a month but needs someone to help out as I’ve never organised anything like this but I’ll give it ago |

I'll see what i can find out. I work ridiculous shifts and will see what suits most best. If we did it as a monthly or bi monthly thing n swapped it from mid week to weekend alternate might work better for all. |

I would be interested in this. My partner D works in derby and I am looking to find him a couple or female to play with while he works away. Then when I am down some weekends I can join in x |

Saturday or a Sunday are good for me, depending on the day.
I think that you’re better off just deciding without trying to please everyone as you’ll be here forever. Then those that are willing and able will be there |

"How does about 1pm lord burtons 25th sound or if anyone can think of somewhere with a bit more room suggest it here." its not a good idea to advertise where your going .. it should be mailed to those that have said they are interested a few days before for discretionary reasons. Good luck with it.

"Maybe. But thinking derby next time. "
Whoo hoo, this social had been in the making for so long and as soon as I don't log in for a few weeks then it all happens. I hope you all had a great time
If you're serious about having one in Derby, then I'm all ears, cos I was born and bred here. |

We've only just joined the site and would be interested in something like this if it happens again. We are from chesterfield area so Burton/Derby isn't to far away. |

"Are people still interested in this going ahead or are we all too worried about Corona." a lot of places are shutting and we are being advised to not have group gatherings. So you may be best off waiting
