Don't have time or place in life for negative people. Don't bother coming just leave the rest of us to enjoy ourselves. Entrance fee for socials is charged because a lot of money is spent in the organising and decoration etc. As a host of socials myself I know how much they cost with expense of dj, decoration, nibbles, etc. I made a loss on the last one but you can't put a price on seeing people turning up and enjoying themselves. |

good luck for your first social, sorry we can not be there this time.
as for the venue, some will know i run the sheffield social for 7 years.
the pub was in one of the worst areas of sheffield at the moment but for 7 years we had no problems.
no attacks
no theft from cars or damage.
so just go and enjoy your self and support this couple in the hard work that goes into it all xx |

omg been reading back on all the fuss over nothing.
as for if pubs have to have the right papers well you never organised a social before have you. they are hiring the place like anyone else hiring a venue its not against the law just because there is the swingers label attached to it.
as for the area have you been down on the said road where the pros hang out. this is a up and coming area with swanky bars opening up, id worry more about getting a parking spot  |

Do you know some thing I’m new to the area and so lucky I don’t judge thing and listen to all the shit that is being said or I would never leave my house or even moved here but you know what I’m so looking forward to coming and meeting new people Iv been to socials befor back in my home town and there all ways enjoyable so I can wait to come to this 1

Just spoken to the land lord lady who are personal friends not one at all has contacted them no residence groups because there is no one living near no business groups no council because we are not doing anything wrong so the show will go on stand up.to bullys Mr sheff |

We remember how the Huddersfield social of years ago was attacked and ultimately stopped.

Last Yorkshire social somone tried to sabotage saying their husband was cheating and they were going to show up with his clothes in a bin bag with reporters lol as you can guess a no show seems someone on fab dont like people's success on socials should get info off people and find out who starts the nasty rhoumers x dont let it worry you and have a great night x |

I've never been to a social, so not sure what all the fuss is about. I haven't read back through the previous posts though.

Hopefully and fingers crossed we're in tonight (even after reading all the sodding negative comments on here by a few narrow minded imbeciles.....jeez, there's some folk that are more than happy to voluntarily throw themselves in to the SAD and STUPID category out there a lately, lol) so we're looking forward to meeting some old AND new friends ;o) |

Thanks for your efforts guys. Not easy getting people together I'm sure. However venue left alot to be desired and I felt very out of place given there was no dress code. I always make an effort.
Think I will leave the socail events behind given I spent the same money to get into LC a few hours later. Where I got high quality play which for me is what swinging is all about.
I hope you all had fun I know I did. |

The socials are about getting together having a drink and a laugh and having a good time.
This couple did really well for the 1st social it's a learning curve when organizing somthing like this and they did well its not easy.

I understand it must be hard but I prefer quality over quantity and some people didn’t make an effort at all shocking but I suppose that’s where we all different,

We thought the place was quirky and fun.
Have been to LCs when there were two guys who had the worst BO we have ever smelt in our lives.
So there is no guarantees of how people present themselves wherever you go. |

I must say venue was great loved the way the owners have kept the old work shop look as lots of breweries and pub companies change places and they loose there character and even in a suit felt comfortable in the surroundings .
And would just like to thank the hosts for a great night and a great job they did for us all ! Xx |

Lol think men make up half of a lot of couples. The point is you only have control of how you present yourself.
Other people's idea of personal presentation and appearance is beyond your control.
We think it was a fun night met some great people and have no complaints. Thought a lot of people looked great and made some effort on the night. Which is the case wherever you go.

I must say I was a bit disappointed with last night. I know it's hard work to organise but I feel that more effort could have been made on the evening itself.
We weren't greeted at the door and it was at least 15 minutes before we realised where the hosts were.
There should have been a guest list as anyone could have walked in off the streets. I checked us in but failed to see where the £5 per person admission fee went. Hosts kept to their table the whole night apart from to do the raffle and have a dance with each other towards the end of the evening. Made no attempt really to talk to anyone so will struggle to write any verifications. A few games wouldn't have gone a miss either.
All of the above is not criticism but just things to bare in mind next time. |

Well what a brilliant night .
Loved the venue .
Whoever came up with the master stroke of holding the event in a micro brewery must be a genius .
It wasn’t difficult to find at all ‘ I just followed the directions on my phone straight to the front door.
I think a big thanks is in order to the organisers for all the time and effort that was put in to pulling this off.
I’m aware of some of the negativity but its always very difficult to please all of the people all of the time .

Suppose that's why there showers and facilities in clubs.
I'm a single fems I went last night if you only want to play with women some couple play separately. Swingers are so diverse that's the point and why I do it. Don't have to play with anyone if you don't want. Clubs are socail events too. |

How you do or do not swing is of no concern to us. In fact we never mentioned anything to do with that.
We still think that the social was fun the venue was quirky. The mix of people was the same as a normal night out. Most people made an effort and we thought it was a good night. |

I didn't make it last night because of family issues, but congratulations to the organisers for organising last night (and for being so tolerant of my on-again, off-again attendance!)... If there's one planned for mid-April, I'm happy to help out with a bit of admin-slavery on the evening! |

Just a note we put roughly £1100 over the bar so it wasn't that bad and yes we know we made a few mistakes alot of you guys don't know it wasn't just about a social after my cancer which was diagnosed 2 days after the last Paul & Carol one I got the all clear last week (Mr sheff ) so it was a celebration last night and I can't think of better people young old male female to celebrate with thanks many thanks A&E xxxxx |

It's a social a place to meet people that it, people dress how they feel comfortable dressing up isn't for everyone. People should do some research before putting there names down all u had to do was put postcode into Google maps and showed u pics. |

we both attended last night had no problems with meeting the hosts on arrival was made feel welcome no complaints as to where the venue was it was kept very original everyone there was friendly bar staff worked hard all night keeping the drinks flowing while still collecting the empties we will be more than happy to attend socials held there run by sheffield couple also well done to both of you on all your hard work putting a fantastic night hope the next is not too far away while still raising money for a very worthy charity congratulations on getting the all clear its everyone's personal choice in what they choose to wear |
