Hi the sheffield social is on 24th of Feb it's very near to.the kelham island area of sheffield the venue is totally separate from any other building full bar pub prices so you can wear something a little bit daring and so can the ladies lol |

I've been for a drive round to the venue as it's not too far from where I live, it's a very rough red light area, and it's not very safe at night, I would not walk the streets let alone leave my car in that area . Can you please remove me from the list . Thank you |

Hi all just a short note to reassure you about the venue for Saturday. It seems someone is not happy about the venue area but I can assure you all we drink in the area every weekend and have left our car overnight in the area too with no problems at all. The venue road is small and well lit. The so called red light area is down the road and under the bridge not near the venue. Taxi firms know where the venue is. As someone who as been said venue I have no real issues with it, in fact, am petty please that a venue of that nature ( what there is a number in that area ) is willing to let a Swingers social to be host there.As for the surrounding area ,The venue is just off a very well lighter main road with CCTV cameras everywhere and one last point so call " Red light " area ,there maybe a number of "working girls " in the area but its hardly Broomhill .So come along and enjoy yourselfs . |

Pitsmoor is in the other direction. And broomhall used to be the red light area of sheffield until the students moved in. We know this area is good we live exactly 1 mile away from it. Something does not seem right here ??? Does the venue have the correct licences to host a Swingers Social, ???, the event has only been advertised on a swingers site for swingers to attend, looking at the venue it looks like it is hired by the general public. If I have my facts right any venue that has anything to do with swingers need to have a sexual entertainment licence , ?, and before someone jumps down my throat about people not having sex there, people don’t have sex in sex toy shop but they still need a licence as it is still classed as sexual entertainment as are strippers in a back street pub.

The venue has an entertainment licence we spoke to the owners who have been licences for years. The venue is great but the woman that started the slaying of the venue hasn't ever been to a social so not really sure what she expected. We've been to plenty of socials and as a venue this place is ideal. Some venues we've been to don't even have a licence for alcohol so stop worrying about it and just turn up for a great night. Well I have been to a social before, I went to one in york it was advertised as a non sexual event, when I arrived with my friend it was in a normal pub just of the city centre near one of the wall gates, when we went in we found quiet a few of the women where walking around in the underwear, there was a woman giving a guy a blow job in the corner of the room and people where most deffinatly having sex in the toilets.
yes the venue you have may have entertainments licences but from how the venue is advertised on there web site i would say that covers for private partys like weddings and Birthday , they prob have a licence to play music and serve food and drink. It does not say anything on their web site about hosting Swingers Socials where the likely hood of a room full of swingers, something sexual is likely to happen, you onlyy need to look at photos on people profile pages to see how risky people are in there sexual live. The venue could face large fines or even be closed if the dont have the correct licence for this type of event. has anyone checked ???? |

Jane it's a private venue the licences know what the social is about and have been doing this for a lot of years so they should know what licence covers the venue. All this is due to 1 person who has never been to any socials and I think she expected something special. It's a social..a meeting for like-minded people I've never seen anyone doing anything sexual at the ones I've been too. The organisers have spent time and money organising this social. If you read back through the comments you will notice no one else put a Sheffield social on so maybe give this couple support for the social. End of day it’s a simple choice you either want to attend or you don’t. If it’s the latter keep your negative comments to yourself. Any venue can hold party's as long as you tell them what type of party it is they don't need a speciel licence..
Nothing happens sexually at socials it's just a get together for people to meet up and have a drink and a laugh
We organise social every few months and have for the last few year and we have never seen any sex going on.
It's very hard work organise a social and I wish them luck and hope it works out for them as need these type of socials for people to meet up |

"Well I have been to a social before, I went to one in york it was advertised as a non sexual event, when I arrived with my friend it was in a normal pub just of the city centre near one of the wall gates, when we went in we found quiet a few of the women where walking around in the underwear, there was a woman giving a guy a blow job in the corner of the room and people where most deffinatly having sex in the toilets.
yes the venue you have may have entertainments licences but from how the venue is advertised on there web site i would say that covers for private partys like weddings and Birthday , they prob have a licence to play music and serve food and drink. It does not say anything on their web site about hosting Swingers Socials where the likely hood of a room full of swingers, something sexual is likely to happen, you onlyy need to look at photos on people profile pages to see how risky people are in there sexual live. The venue could face large fines or even be closed if the dont have the correct licence for this type of event. has anyone checked ????"
I have been to many york socials and now host one and can honestly say i have never seen that type of behaviour at any of them |

Yes it is hard work... That's why we are going at weekend to put our feet up and enjoy the night. Mixing and mingling instead of all the organising that goes with it. I must add... Have we all not gone to nightclubs or cinemas and heard or done naughty things in the past... People know that public places are not for being naughty in but some will try... And if caught.. are told to leave. Socials are just that... Fun... and no play!! See you Saturday x |

I am in the lincence trade and help host socials and I have lots of dealings with the licencing officer all over the UK . A social can be held in any building of the person's choice and there is no need for any special lincence for this ! |

There's some very bitter people about. Maybe that could be a different social to organise 'killjoy'. Lighten up and get a grip. If you were invited to a family party and disapproved of their choice of venue would you voice your opinion?? No you'd suck it up and still go with a smile on your face and be a miserable sod and stay at home. Everyone who attends socials do it out of choice to unwind and meet up with potential play dates, but what individuals choose to do is their own responsibility not the organisers. We are all adults and must take responsibility for our own actions |

The landlady & landlord know who we are they are personal friends and won't be treating us like a dirty little secret. I was talking to a single lady from Derby the other day, she has been to a great many socials, see say's some socials have provided play areas. What to believe, some people say its just a social, some people say they play. if this is just a social meet put for a drink then why is it a private venue and a guest only list ???? why has the organiser spent time and money if its just a social gathering to have a drink and chat. surely if you wanted to meet up socialy then pic a large enough pub tell people you will be there and if people want to come they can do. All this secret planning, guest list, private venue and secret location suggest so much more than just a social gathering. |

Its kept secret cos its a social event for fab swingers..not a social event where random prople can hust walk in off the street....if u dont like social events thats fine dont attend...but dont sit slatin it cos u dont like it... people like socials its a chance for like minded people to meet in a relaxed non pressured safe environmental..its just that simple..ffs |

I enjoy s good social meet, I go to one every month, I’m also on a fetish website and our socials are called munch’s they are held in a normal pub where people can meet for a social drink and chat, no one is charged to attend, nothing is kept a secret , oh and it’s a safe friendly environment for people to meet socially. |
