So we need somewhere big that we can have our own little corner in... somewhere close to city celts if some want to go on and play there and/or travelodge/premier Inn.
Who knows the area? because we haven't a clue! Lol |

Depending on numbers and how people feel bout been discrete you have a few options
Big weatherspoons called the highcross or another big pub called queen of Bradgate. They have an upstairs so could have that space.
Or there is a small bar, can't think of the name but It's a snow lodge theme. |

I live in the city centre bu I don't really do bars or clubs so I can't think of anything off the top of my head.
The city centre is relatively small and has quite a few places to stay. If you fancy boutique, look at Hotel Myango. |

The firebug! Of course, that's where they hold the bdsm munches. I've been looking too and I think either the firebug or the high cross pub is very central and has access to hotels and city celts for those that so wish to play after....
It's a social so everyone is welcome  |

Probably better to just meet at a big bar or something cause free entry and it is only a social afterall.
Can still take people to other places if there is anyone you you like  |

At the moment I am thinking Saturday 25th Feb.
However we have to get a venue pinned down first. Once we have that I'll start a seperate thread for a guest list so people can see who has said they're going.
We are looking or a venue that hopefully will give us either complete privacy or be large enough to enable us to find our own spot. That's also central to hotels and/or City Celts so those that choose to could have somewhere to play after the social.
My ideas are to run this one. While there find a couple of other people that may be interested in takong it on turns hosting with us because I know we will not be able to cover them all if we are to make this a regular thing. Otherwise we'll just do one as and when rather than make it a regular thing if it works out well this time.
I have some other ideas too but we'll see how things go before we go further with any of that |

I went to a leic social before it was held in city centre witherspoon...it's upstairs area creates a separate fold for a meeting area x |

It seems to have died.
However if someone does sort it out then we would be interested in it if it was held at Club 29. If its in a pub then we aren't interested. |

It seems unlikely that a Leicester social will happen which is a shame. Not sure why but possibly because of the lack of a suitable venue.
Personally we would have voted for it to be held at Club 29.
However there is an event at Club 29 today anyway. Look at their website cus im sure it will have details. Its a fun and friendly place to go |

There were about 2 comments from people saying they wouldnt come if it was held at Club 29 (City Celts) so that was decided against. However no one found a vanilla place to have the social so it appears that its not going to happen.
We would come if its at Club 29 but not keen on a pub.
Theres no need for people to be nervous about going to Club 29 though because its a fun and friendly place and Judith (the owner) is great. People could use it the same as a pub because you don't have to get naked ... unless you want to.
Anyway it seems that it's not going to happen. |

no it will not happen because again of peoples opinions of venues, i say even if there's a fewer coming lets go for club 29 , at least it will happen, can stay clothed, hopefully she may have discount for advertising, and also a speak easy venue,

May i suggest `The old Horse ` on London road next to Victoria Park .
Its a large pub with good seating areas & a large covered smoking area outside .
Its not that busy in the week as long as the Football or Rugby are not at home |

I don't think the original people organising it are willing to do that now as they seem to have faded away, this thread was started ages ago.
Maybe someone else wants to take it on ?
If there's a vote for where a Leicester social would be then we both vote for Club 29 |

No always . The best socials we have attended over the years have been during the week . Mainly Thursday nights , easier for younger couples to get baby sitters etc . But I'm sure what ever evening is arranged it will be a good night |

Iv only once been to a social that wasnt at the weekend. It was ok but not as good as the weekend ones. |

Well people can play too if they want too.
We have been to lots of socials at another club that charges even more.
Obviously not everyone would want to go to a club the same as others wouldnt want to have a social in a pub.
Although neither seem likely to happen anyway |

Yes Lillys Lounge is the upstairs area where the dance school was. If we was to use the actual club then it would just be a party and wouldnt be a social |
