No charge for this night The venue is ten mins walk from the city centre . The venue is close to all city centre hotels , easy parking 5 mins from venue. Single guys are welcome but we have limited spaces so you need to get your name down quick . If you would like more info please use the forum or contact one of the hosts . I'm very surprised to see after all the hard work put in by the hosts of the original York social you feel you should set up a social to compete with them having said that after the trouble you caused at the last YORK social you prob thought you would not be welcome back good luck you will need it!!!! |

If so for the sake of the scene I would concider to be created different names of York socials so everyone would know where they go

From my understanding this has all come about due to an incident at the last 'proper' York social, 3 disgruntled ppl in their infinite wisdom have taken it upon themselves to set up what would appear to be a flash in the pan social that is more about upsetting the fantastic hosts of the real York social. I for one will not be attending this as I know the 3 ppl involved are out for some kind of childish revenge and not to create an event worth ppl's time and money. I urge you all to support the real York social |

We was interested in attending, but the comments have put us off.
Why not hold the social somewhere close by that doesn't have a social like Leeds, Malton, Harrogate or even Bridlington.
Then it wouldn't be a York social? |

Why should they? Sheffield has two socials. Wakefield has two socials. Newcastle has two socials. They're not patented.

I was at the last York social but must have left before this notorious event. I have known the OP and Romeo and Juliet for many years and am not going to let that be coloured by something I didn't see.
Anyway, so what? There's room in York for both socials, especially as I feel the existing one is getting too big. A nice, mini one would be welcomed by me. |

Bet none of you know where the 1st social was only a hand few will know because i am the 1st to come up with this idea and it was never about making money. Places like Hull Newcastle and many others copied my brain child so here it is 188 on guest list -9 that's £940 40 single men that's £215 that's £1155 room free cpl of hundred for the entertainment that's the big issue here. When i set this up lot's of year's ago it was all about fun all fun to be had by all not for fucking capital fucking gain |

It was one of the hosts that is now running this social that introduced the £5 charge. It also has to be said none of the hosts make a penny out of running and organising the social, and they put a lot of hard work and time into making it what it is. You may have started the social but it's way bigger and better to where you started. |

Yes we remember we was at that first social was a good night at the start of the socials in york and later went on to become one of the hosts ourselves. |
