trying to arrange my first social in preston.
possibly nov. 16th or around that date.
post here if interested, and let me know what dates/times are good for you and we'll try and get something sorted. we've got a venue, to be disclosed at a further date.

right, been really busy with it being the weekend, and with my filters being off my inbox is random to say the least.
if people genuinely interested in the social could post in here then i know to keep an eye out for your messages and can also make a start on the guest list.

still looking good. some people know the location, it is less than a mile from both the bus and train station for anyone not sure if they want to come yet.
anyone can arrange to meet at the bus or train stations if you wanna head up to the pub together. i'm happy to meet some people at the train station and walk down with them, as i'll be getting the train.

I didn't mind it being Preston, i just struggle in the week with childcare. Its always good to make fab friends
If this one goes well, maybe the next one could be a Fri evening or Saturday afternoon with the option of carrying it on into the evening if people wanted to. Just ideas |

yeah. i'd prefer a day time meet as the trains are a bit dodgy at the night time, i'm gonna maybe have to get a taxi home, which i can afford but it's gonna be £24 more...well the trains are free at nights if i can get one. |

i'm thinking to hold the next one at a different time, so after this one (if it's successful, and it looks like it's gonna be great) coz i've got my hands full sorting this out right now also, i'll start arranging the next. i'll make another topic and we'll figure out when's the best night or day time people can go.
i'd like someone to help me arrange it also if anyone is interested? like have some actual co-operative input into arranging it with me, help send out messages and vet people who want to attend. but we can save that for the next topic as well. |

right, i'm off to bed coz i'm tired but posting this before i go then people have enough time to see it hopefully.
gonna upload a pic of me tomorrow as i will be looking at the social (so basically take a pic just before i set off) so you know who to look out for. i am hoping to greet everyone who turns up and shove a name tag on you and introduce you to people if you'd like that, if you want to send me face pics so i'll recognise you and can keep an eye out for you on the day feel free to send them.
i'm very excited!! it looks like a lot of great people are coming, and plenty of us new to socials, some not but it's a good bunch either way.
some have dropped out due to work commitments but that's ok, pkenty more have shown interest.
i'm the official hostess and bouncer, so any trouble and you'll have me to deal with, not that there's gonna be any i'm sure -everyone seems to have manners so far.
erm that's it really. hope to see you all there and that you make some new fab friends and we all enjoy each others company. i'm so excited i'm gonna repeat how i excited i am.  |

gonna upload a pic of me tomorrow as i will be looking at the social (so basically take a pic just before i set off) so you know who to look out for. i am hoping to greet everyone who turns up and shove a name tag on you and introduce you to people if you'd like that, if you want to send me face pics so i'll recognise you and can keep an eye out for you on the day feel free to send them.
i'm very excited!! it looks like a lot of great people are coming, and plenty of us new to socials, some not but it's a good bunch either way.
some have dropped out due to work commitments but that's ok, pkenty more have shown interest.
i'm the official hostess and bouncer, so any trouble and you'll have me to deal with, not that there's gonna be any i'm sure -everyone seems to have manners so far.

thanks all for the well wishes. and yeah if there's another social you should be welcome to it.
right, everyone should have been given the location now by me, all the people i know are going or are hoping to make it.
i've advised people to turn up after 7pm but i will put a status up when i get there so you know i'm definitely there to greet you. it shouldn't be much longer than after 7 if i am late but i should be there before then and have chatted to Nick about things.

FINAL DETAILS
it starts any time after 7pm, you can stay as little or as long as you like, after all it is a social.
you should all have the location.
i'm gonna be wearing what is in my latest pic, so keep an eye out for that (it won't be as blurry in person, lol).
i'll be keeping an eye out for nervous people to bring them over to where we'll be sitting but i've got a choker on with my name on it (irene) just in case anybody wonders if we are the fab social.
hope you all have fun meeting new people and getting to know them in a social setting without.
any problems and you come to me and i'll sort them, but there shouldn't be any problems as everyone seems a nice bunch.
thanks for all additional interest from others today. sorry, the date for giving out the location was this weekend just gone. |

next time i'll state in the first post of the topic that i was giving out the location a few days beforehand, after a couple of weeks of vetting people.
takes a fair bit of planning and the last couple of days gets more hectic as people start saying whether they'll come or not or just ask questions and that. then, coz my social is in my post, loads of randoms just ask, when my status is for those already on the list really.
not sure when to have the next one, will everyone be skint in december as it's christmas? i won't be, but i don't celebrate xmas and only buy a christmas dinner. |

I know you had your doubts, but I think you did a tremendous job organising last night at The Ferret.
Too get so many people to turn out on a wet windy winters night is an absolute victory.

It was brilliant to meet you all (those I got a chance to talk to anyway, and those I didnt I will try harder next time).
Special super-duper ta very much to Irene for organising it. I know it must have been a bit of a headache, but it seems to have all paid off as everyone else seems to have had a 'fab' (sorry, couldnt resist) time too!

gonna start a new topic asking what days or nights are best for people. i'm thinking to hold a day time social and a night one, that way most people in the area can meet each other at times when they're likely to be free.
the day time one can be nearer christmas, maybe people will pop in to say hi if they're christmas shopping in preston? |

Speaking of new dates I can do any daytime other than weekends or a Monday as I am behind the bar in Cupids then....
You will never be able to cater for everyone though - just go with the date ou think and whatever will be will be x |

thanks, will note that in my other topic.
nobody else replied with suitable dates anyway yet so i will give it a week and decide on my own, if only me turns up i'm ok with that and will try the bar fries and nobody will see me stuffing my face haha. |
