I would come if it a kid free weekend and know more that would. If you are looking to get a function room somewhere, I'd suggest find one with hotels nearby 
You could always do it for charity too, so cover expenses then donate the extra to a charity. |

If you look at other social events you'll see how quick people comment, there's one for Barnsley, Birmingham, Manchester and just been a Sheffield one. Some have had 2 threads or more |

Is it a swing evening or social?
If a social in a "normal" club would have to think carefully about what to wear etc. If a swing evening then I imagine libs, but haven't been there. Then that takes the whole purpose out of a social.
I went to brum social last year and it finished at 12 but many ventured to town after. But due to the custom they received they are staying open longer this year. |

I wouldn't go to a nightclub as it'd be impossible to talk. But I'd go to a social club event, where function rooms are hired out. I did look at organising one before, but its time consuming and doing it alone isn't easy. |

Can I please clarify that this is just a social night to have a drink and meet other like minded fibers. I have never done this before and not looking to make any financial gain out of it at all.i just thought a themed night might be fun. Yes I'm trying to sort a venue out with only like minded swingers.
Yes looking at a sort of night club thing but only swingers only and no general public.
So please any comments are helpful.
I don't want to take this to any swingers club as this is a social meet and what you do afterwards is up to yourselfs.

All you need is a pub then. No need for themes or dancing just somewhere nice where we can gather, have a natter and a drink.
There's no reason you couldn't do it at a swingers club, socials are common in clubs but we lack them in Leicester. I bet if you contacted Midswingers they would welcome a bunch of us lounging around the bar. That way, we can chat without causing offence to the locals and if anybody did want to play, the facilities are there.
They could also advertise it.
Ask people to put their name on a list (usually on the forum, have a look at FFFF), that way you can keep tabs on numbers and it officially becomes a social which is easier for some people to cope with if they are feeling nervous about being new to the scene/club/socials. |

the only thing that would deter people going to a swingers club for a social is the entry cost and dress code (if there is one) |

They were planning on opening a pub and making it a place for swingers to social meet. Most of us couldn't understand why it would be different from meeting at any other venue, other than it would be well known in Leicester as a place where swingers could be found!

Like I said in previous messages I don't want this at a swingers club. This will be at a pub or possibly a night club but will be for only swingers only so no public will be attending. It won't be a big venue or have loud music. |

Are you considering hiring somewhere as that could possibly be expensive and you may end up being out of pocket.
I run a Munch once a month in a pub. All we do is ask the landlord to reserve us a bit of space and typically, we have around 20 people attending and have a ball.

Ok guys. Sorry it's taken a while too post anything. I got a quiet little venue and just thought a Thursday night might be good due to weekend parties and clubs. Any ideas if that's good or not. ??. |

Please forgive us for being new to this, we have seen a number of social events posted, and we think this is where swingers meet in a pub to meet other swingers, but in a pub there is obviously no naughty playing. A lot of people seem to like these events, but what we don't understand, why do swingers like to meet other swingers in a place where you can't do any swinging ???? Surely would it not be better to meet other swingers in a swingers club, ???? Or are we missing something here ????? Can anyone shed any light on this ???? |

Number of reasons to why people prefer these:
1. Don't like swingers clubs, so socials have the opportunity to gather several in a location at once, rather than just meeting one person for a social.
2. More relaxed atmosphere, can drink and feel comfortable
3. Cost is cheaper, some clubs can cost as much as £70 for a couple on a first visit.
4. Some people like to make friends and a social is a less pressured environment.
5. The big socials do well and raise money for charities at the same time.
6. Socials have been organised in clubs before and people complain about it.
Socials are a great event and I'd recommend people attend one, if it's something they're interested in. Last one I went to was in Birmingham and it was in a function room at a social club, that way those at the event were swingers only and on the guest list. |

Sometimes people don't have time for a while club night, it's a nice way for those new to the scene to meet other swingers without an pressure to play, which enables them to find out how it goes at club nights, which clubs are the reputable ones, do's and don't when in a club.
It isn't only about fucking for some, it's about catching up with friends, making new ones and being able to socialise with like minded people openly and honestly.
It's a good way to meet people you might want to play with in the future that don't necessarily go to clubs rather than talking to people on here and having to send hours on here trying to find the genuine people.
Oh and they're a good laugh sometimes too  |

It was a very relaxed atmosphere, it was only £25 to get in if we remember rightly, we did not feel under any pressure to play with anyone, we sat around talking to people, having drinks and made some new friends, we found the night very sociable. A social doesn't cost anything to get in.
It increases the chance for people to met that otherwise wouldn't go to a club for various reasons.

Not sure what club in Birmingham that is, as both xstasia and chams require a membership, which is extra cost on top of entry price.
Socials aren't just for couples, but females and men too, so for men it'd definitely be cheaper.
Some socials do charge to get in, if they've hired the place out as it covers costs, but normally £5-10.
My experiences have differed completely between clubs and socials and I'd probably choose a social over a club, but still like clubs. |
