Exeter Social for all, Saturday 16th

January …8.00 till Midnight

Following the success of our first Exeter social, the venue has invited us back for another social evening, the venue is a vanilla pub so naughtiness should be restricted as much as possible.

This is purely a chance to get together in a social atmosphere, put names to faces and make connections for the future or if you want to take someone home with you, I am sure no one will be stopping you.

The evening is open to ALL but we do ask that you should be presentable and respectful.

There will be entertainment running from 8.30 till 11.30.

The evening is free.

The exact address will be released to interested parties in the week before the event.

If you would like to attend please register your interest below, further information will be released to those people in due time.

You can help by telling your friends and getting them to register interest… self promotion is a wonderful thing, the more we get chatting about it, the better it will be on the night…

I think the code is carry an umbrella under the left arm, a rolled up copy of The Times under the right arm, and a red carnation in our lapel. Someone please correct me if I am wrong?

IMPORTANT NOTE….

Over the past week I have had several people approach me stating they had problems with certain people who have registered their intention of attending the social on the 16th.

N.B. The last Burnham social was cancelled because some people were informed their presence would be unwelcome, others then complained that by refusing entry to some, it was no longer a social, more a private party…I totally agree with that thought.

The venue is a normal “vanilla” pub.. We cannot refuse anyone entry…. It is a social meeting with entertainment…. That is all it is.

I will not be informing anyone that they are unwelcome, that was tried at Burnham and failed.. BIG TIME… But I do want to say this, if you are having issues with someone then your options appear to be..

• Ignore the person in question.

• Talk to the person, maybe with their clothes on and away from the keyboard they turn out to be a reasonable person.

• Do not attend the social.

SINGLE GUYS… a few of you appear to be the main crux of the issue, This is a social meeting, a chance for you to come along and impress the couples and others, prove yourselves, be polite, respectful, presentable and above all, know that NO means No… it needs saying once, if you continue bugging someone after a refusal you just make yourself look an ass.

FINALLY let’s all be Adults, there is no need to exclude anyone, this is a chance to get together, laugh, giggle and have a good time…. With the added benefit of maybe making a future contact.
