I've spent some time down there myself and most of the women complained about the choice and quality of men for them down there (come to think of it, maybe they were hinting something). A lot come from the beautiful, tiny villages dotted around the county and some leave to broaden their options.
Looking at the meets, events and profiles on this site alone - swinging would appear to be alive and very, very healthy in the West Country.
It's a lovely place and I'm sure you'll have a great time down there. Enjoy.
