It's time to party in the steel city! 
This will be a purely social event held in the function room of a pub close to the city centre - and within staggering distance of a few hotels.
We'll be starting in the afternoon all the way through till last (wo)man standing! 
Normal pub etiquette applies - we are in a private space so can swap lots of stories but if as far as behaviour goes: if you wouldn't do it in your local then don't do it in mine!
The guestlist is open to all, verified or not, singles, couples, everyone. So if you've been struggling to get meets or verified then join us.
As host I will try to ensure everyone meets lots of fun people and has a great night - this may also include pouring anyone who has overindulged and sending them home for an early night so please pace yourselves. 
If you're interested in attending then post on here and I'll send details of nearby hotels. The venue will only be released much closer to the event. |

The nearest hotel is a premier inn but the city centre ibis was showing rooms at £18.
There isn't any parking but I also know the nearest on street free parking to the ibis...  |

I've been away for the bank holiday weekend. Hotels info will be sent out when I'm reunited with my laptop.
Venue info will not be released until a couple of days prior to the event - it's a mainstream pub and we have a private room booked.

I've added everyone and sent hotel info to out-of-towners and to locals who have asked for it. If I've missed anyone please let me know either on here or use the reply privately button just below on the left.
For those who haven't attended a social before and aren't sure what to expect think of a group of people with some great anecdotes ((some saucy, some some shocking) all wanting to make new friends and laugh.
It's in a normal pub, though we will be in a private room so dress for a Saturday night up town. As far as behaviour goes just be sociable. It is not an opportunity to stalk people you have always wanted to play with, though light flirting may be well received and you may be able to arrange something for another time.
Predatory behaviour, however, is not acceptable, nor is getting messily intoxicated. If anyone has an issue with another guest then please feel free to raise it with me (I won't be drinking) and then leave it to me to deal with - anyone who knows me will know I'm not the shy retiring type!
I don't expect any problems though, I have attended a variety of socials and fab people are fabulous squared en masse!

As suggested by Queen of Tease (hiya Queenie ) We will be holding a raffle in aid of Cavendish Cancer Support.
It's a charity based in Sheffield which offers support of all kinds to cancer sufferers and their friends and family. This ranges from a comfy place and a coffee to spend time between appointments to a shoulder to cry/lean on and a sympathetic ear to help filling out forms, arranging benefits and also massages, reflexology and even pamper days.
I will set the ball rolling by offering as a raffle prize a hamper of my homemade jams, jellies, preserves, relishes and chutney.

For those who haven't attended a social before and aren't sure what to expect think of a group of people with some great anecdotes ((some saucy, some some shocking) all wanting to make new friends and laugh.
It's in a normal pub, though we will be in a private room so dress for a Saturday night up town. As far as behaviour goes just be sociable. It is not an opportunity to stalk people you have always wanted to play with, though light flirting may be well received and you may be able to arrange something for another time.
Predatory behaviour, however, is not acceptable, nor is getting messily intoxicated. If anyone has an issue with another guest then please feel free to raise it with me (I won't be drinking) and then leave it to me to deal with - anyone who knows me will know I'm not the shy retiring type!
I don't expect any problems though, I have attended a variety of socials and fab people are fabulous squared en masse!
Again, any questions don't hesitate to ask.

The raffle is being held in aid of the Weston Park Cancer Support Centre
Registered Charity No: 509803

The prizes we have so far include a hamper of homemade jams and preserves, smellies for men and smellies for women, a tray of Stella, a fully stocked club/play bag (including gobble bobble) and the kind people at LoveHoney have donated a selection box of goodies including toys and bondage items.
Any further prizes will be very gratefully received. The support centre offer help, advice, someone for cancer patients and their friends and family to talk to, help with benefits and form filling, pamper sessions and alternative therapies such as shiatsu, reflexology and hypnotherapy. |

Everyone added to the list and hotel info sent out.
I'm off on my jollydays for a week on Friday and won't have guaranteed internet access so though I might be able to pop onto Fab occasionally I can't promise I'll be able to send out info to people till Friday 4th.
Though if anyone feels inclined to (can't believe I'm saying this!) copy and paste the hotel info to new people I'd be obliged. |

Yohoho, if you book on the same day the hotel prices are dirt cheap. I booked Malmaison in Leeds for a works Xmas do last year and got a supreme room for £43 |
