Following on from our thread in the Lounge...
The venue: Butlins Skegness
The date: October 1st 2010
The Theme: Disco Inferno Fancy Dress
We already have some confirmed bookings for this event but if anyone else is interested in booking please message us for any information that you require.
It is open to anyone from the site to attend and is a chance for those of us who haven't yet met, to get to know each other.
The Butlins Adult Weekends are a fantastic event and a whole lot of fun.
We recommend booking a standard apartment with Dinner Bed and Brekky - costs around 200 quid for 2 people. There are other options for larger numbers who are willing to share rooms etc but these can all be viewed on the "Butlins Big Weekend" Website

ok, I've never been to a Butlins, is it possible for 'swinging' to go on here? or is it just a social?.

Can we please have an up to date list of who is attending ?
Then we all need to decide what we're gonna do, ie swap mobile numbers etc etc and where were gonna meet.
The Sun and Moon pub on site is usually a good place to start ... |

Maybe we could have a role call of who is coming because we've kinds lost track, then we'll all have to decide where we're gonna meet up (Moon and Stars pub on site is usually as good a place as any)

Hi all
I will be at the Disco Inferno weekend at SkegVegas
Went last year and had a right laugh, fancy dress all weekend, lots of drinking, laughing and very late nights !!! went as a scrubs surgeon last year, doing old man and headmaster this time.
Would love to hook up with everyone for a drink, chat, laugh and see how things go
I am going as part of a group of guys, about 18 in total but would meet by myself unless requested to bring some more playmates !!!!

If we can't get in the bar without booking in, we'll go to a nearby pub and get some lunch.
We wont get "tanked up" that early in the day.
If anyone else is getting there earlyish pm us and we can meet for lunch and a beer.
We are travelling from Cornwall the night before and staying in Wolves, so will have a gentle drive up on the Friday morning |

I am travelling up from Dorset on Thurs, staying over in Nottm then getting to Butlins late afternoon
Will be getting showered and fed before heading out for a drink around 8
Is there gonna be a meeting point and time ???, don't forget they are long nights at this event, bed is usually hit around 5-6am so pace yourselves folks !!!!
Is it cool to give mobile numbers out ???

The meeting point which we always use is the Sun and Moon (or the Moon and stars - can never remember the proper name) - it's the pub on site - a bit like a Weatherspoons. Its as good a place as any to meet up and to the best of my understanding you can go into it at any time of the day, it's just the rooms that you can't get in until 4pm (or 2pm for premier members)
We expect to get there about 3ish

We've just had the same problem Kate has just received a hospital appointment for 1st October. She has asked for another date, as there is no way I'm driving 400 miles after sitting in hospital waiting room.

I am making an effort to dress appropriately, not fancy dress as such though.
BTW, peeps, please check what you should bring with you. Good job I did, as I did not realise I need to bring my own towel!!!
I was checking if there is a kettle/coffee/tea making facilities and whether there will be a hair-dryer in the standard room, and discovered the bit about bring your own towel! |

Not long to go now folks, hope everyone is fit and ready ?
Our fancy dress is all sorted (has been for ages now lol)
S is wearing Either a Burlesque saloon girl outfit or someone from ABBA on Saturday (Vice versa on Sunday) Normal kit on Friday night
B will Freddie Mercury or a Saturday night fever type of geezer on Saturday (vice versa on Sunday) and normal kit on Friday.
Friday night is always a good night in Jax bar - always some belter music going on till the early hours and a great atmosphere, Saturday night is good all over - it's one of those move around all over the place kind of nights
So looking forward to meeting up with all you guys and gals in the Moon and Stars, or Sun and Moon - whatever the bleeding place is called ! and look forward to a cracking weekend.
Those of us who have exchanged phone numbers can give each other a call to say we are here and those of us who havent - lets just hope you have good powers of recognition ..

I've been working in Brum for last 3 weeks but am driving home to Cornwall tomorrow, to take our dog to kennels and then drive back up country to Wolves tomorrow night.
Then going to have a steady drive over to Skeggy on Friday morning.
Will probably do a few pitstops to have a look around the various places we pass through, and aim to get there early afternoonish. Gonna park the car for a few days and chill. See you all in the bar |

OMG! We're lucky our local DO is about 30 seconds by car, so if we miss anything it's not such a hassle to pick it up - in fact 9 times out of 10, the postie just signs for it himself and bungs it in the shed

I am nearly packed, just need to sort out the clothes to wear during the day.
Got a black tie do tomorrow evening so I shall be off line. Goodness know what time I'll get up on Friday to start my journey up north!
My aim is to be there for 16:00h.

I left at 12:05h, and did not arrive until 19:30h and missed my dinner!!!
Blooming awful traffic and weather, sat on M4 for over 30min to get up one junction, and that was near the start of the journey!!!
Nevermind, I had a BK, and a few drinks and a good dance session, so I am happy now!

I am home after just over 6h on the road, with 3 pitstops including a KFC!!!
Had a great time, and I am knackered.
Must do this again next year, and dress up en masse!!!

Brilliant weekend, really enjoyed the company. Met some smashing people and cannot wait to do it all over again, so thinking caps on for next years costumes - possibly Minehead next time ???
Weve been thinking of something along the lines of goth or punk rock for one of the nights.

Bloody fabuolous time,even though I nearly died of alcohol poisoning the first night
It was lovely to meet those we had'nt met before and lovely to meet up with those we already met
Goth and punk sounds good to me but I also have a craving for a playboy bunny costume,Rob will make a good hugh hefner,not much make up needed
My car died on the way home and when the green flag man jump started it for me I nearly ran the poor man over,he was still shaking as he drove off in his lorry |

we are staying in Wolves for a few days before going home to Cornwall, but what a great weekend?
Never seen so many women under one roof before. Must have outnumbered the guys 3 to 1. Most of 'em must have been pissed too, coz even I got accosted
This should become an annual event because there is so much scope to develop the fun times.
Great music, loads of friendly people, decent food and bars serving round the clock..... what more could you want?

Another couple of ideas to play about with ..
How about Schoolgirl / Boy on the Friday, Playboy theme Saturday and Sunday go as you please - camp it up like Christmas - and Jack - you'll get you chance to be a tranny - I assume you mean the men dressing up as woman type of tranny and not some kind of early Japanese portable radio |

Sorry to have not made the meet up on Friday night but work and traffic meant I didn't arrive until midnight !!!
Spent what was left of the night in Reds and Centre stage, but collapsed into bed at 2.30, had done a days work and 370 miles and been up since 5.30am
Rest of weekend was brilliant, may even have spanked one or two on Sat night as Headmaster, and had a great time on Sun as old men
Maybe meet up next time and so glad you all had a fabulous time |

If we had the cash, we'd be there every month, but alas we have Santa bloody Claus with his big fat ass waiting round the corner, then after that we have our hols, so it's save, save, save, then when we get back, its deposit for 2012 holidays , so sadly it'll be the best part of 12 months before we can go back - unless we come into some money, for example if Bob gets a few decent fiddle jobs to do |

I thought about the naughty school girl and boy theme this morning too! And that is doable for me.
Playboy bunny is definitely fine by me.
As for doing it again sooner? I doubt it due to lack of funds and holidays!
I would need to change my holidays for 2011/2 in order to free up the weekend, as I have already book the holidays for that year! My boss will love me for changing thme for certain! |
