Would love to come, Lickety was always trying to get me to attend the STP events, but I never did - always an excuse. Again, I do have one this time, as I have a wedding up north and only come back to London that day (before packing to go on proper hols). |

I never did get to any of the STPs. And although I was sort of aware of Lickety from the forum, and I think we met at least once at an MLS, I wouldn't be able to claim that I knew her. But the fab world gets smaller when any of the voices are gone forever (rather than just "fab gone", leaving from the front door and creeping in the back under a new name).
It's a good long time since I've been to any social parties, between the pandemic and the last few years of my own personal grief, I've shrunk my circle of movement and generally avoided any crowded situations. Recent diagnosis of an auto-immune disease means that really I ought to be even more wary of exposure to any infections, especially covid (which was probably the trigger for my own condition).
So I'm arguing myself round to a position where even if I was invited along on the 11th, I would probably not be confident in coming along. And that's without the logistics of travel and arranging overnight accomodation for a destination that would be unknown until only shortly before (I guess though that it will be somewhere within short range of London, a city where I get very uncomfortable, too big/loud/crowded/confusing...).
Hoping that you all have a great time, and that the party gives a good send off to Lickety. Sending hugs to all my friends who will be there, Polly xxx |

Attend STP a few years back and was made to feel very very welcome by all.
I met a few, some months later at MLS, including the lovely Lickety. We left the event together and had dinner and quite a few cocktails. Conversation flowed and so did the laughter.
I would loves to be able to attend but I'm not able.
I will raise a glass or cuppa in memory instead.
Have a fantastic time everyone.
A valued member who will never be forgotten by people.

When we die, we die twice.
The first time when our last breath leaves our body.
The second time, the last time someone says our name.
All the time Lickety is in someone’s thoughts, she'll always be here.

What a beautiful day we had.
The sun shone for out dear Lickety.
Thank you Kay and Ben for organising this, I know you have very busy lives.
It was a lovely way for us to remember her and honour her wonderful life.

Only picked up on this now.
We went to the funeral and it was a sad but "lickety" send off. Smiles and tears.
We were friends for years and had a special connection for a few reasons.
But must admit, we didn't really appreciate the good work she did for charity and good causes.
What a lovely woman, sadly missed.

Likewise I was there.
I knew of her work, and what she was doing and had done
But never new to what extent she had touched people's life's, and what she had meant to them |
