Is there any interest in an Essex social?
Thinking just like-minded singles and couples getting together for a drink and conversation?
Potential Mon 4 September in a central Colchester location.
If there's interest I will confirm venue and probably get a group telegram chat set up.... |

Definitely a lot of interest for Essex socials. We've considered running our own near Southend for some years, it's just the issue of finding a reliable venue with an open minded view for holding a purely social, pants on swingers event there |

I know of a couple places in Colchester that would, although I've never understood why we need to seek permission.....if you were going with a group of friends it wouldn't be an issue |

They also arrange socials at clubs, and with only 1 club in Essex....doesn't make for alot of choice, nor the option for purely social.....
But granted their events are good, I've attended previously |

Indeed. Arranged before in my little part of Essex and just gone to pub with a big garden and plenty of inside space if needed. Probably had 20 or so and it has worked fine. Also no need to charge. Been to others where private room hired (without mentioning that for swingers) and need to charge which add another level of complication and risk.

"Esocials is the main socials page for Essex."
I think that is quite a south Essex thing though. Essex a big place and much less in North Essex. I can get to Cambridge in pretty much half the time it takes me to get to far end fo Southend for example. |

1 hour 46 by train is not that long in my opinion. |

OK that's fine for you but not for all. I've travelled to Southend including for the regular party and for socials and it makes a difference. 30-40 mins versus 1 hour and half especial late at night when got to get back. Not knocking Esocials or other things down in South Essex (or Kent which I've also travelled too) Just saying many people want things a bit closer in North Essex and something in Colchester could work for lots of people. Ditto other bits of north/central Essex like Harlow or Chelmsford. |

That's a shame that means Essex only had one club, for the asking of People in it that's not a lot "
Better than not having any at all which has been the case for most of the time You have the very regular well attended house party near you as well.
At least Kent is close and easy and places to the north like VA and Jaydees and of course London. It's weird but I can get to Kent to say DV8 more quickly than I can get to Southend |

When you said that it surprised me. Sounds like the carrot crunchers need a club or a party in the north or even better in Chelmsford that way north and south Essex can get there easily especially with cross flying buses running almost all night and morning. Way to get there and quick by car. What is a let down is the trains. You have to go to London to bet back out again. |

You lost me at carrot crunchers? Not heard that one before. Oh there are parties and gatherings dotted around just generally not advertised. |

Yes of course. I’ve hosted with a friend and know a few others that do sometimes. They tend to be private invite only though.
More importantly what do you mean by carrot crunchers? |

Lol it's a joke When we were at school, college. The mid Essex folk referred to us in South East as 'London Wannabees' and we referred to then as 'semi-carot crunchers'because of the accent. |

ESocials are going back to the 80s.
After the success of our last party at Eurekas we will be holding our next party there on Saturday, 18th November. Tickets are on sale now and can only be bought through us.
We really hope you can make it for what will be a fab night of getting to know some sexy, likeminded people in a relaxed environment and great music from the decade which gave us big hair, leg warmers and one hit wonder Chesney Hawkes!
Tickets are priced as follows: couples £30, single gents £35, single ladies £10. Membership is not needed for our party but you will need to bring photo ID. Contact us to get yours. |

How strange that you think people in Chelmsford, Colchester, Saffron Walden/Dunmow etc. have a "carrot cruncher" accent whatever that means. What an odd thing to say. |

"I'm interested in attending a social party with like minded people. It'll be my first, but I would be going alone. I'm straight and live in SS17. Any suggestions?"
There is a social happening in Norwich next Saturday, the lady organising is Velvets Norwich Socials.
I will be arriving with a (non play) friend, but it'll be my first time |
