Nah, there's loads* of trains from Euston and lower cost (but often not cheap cheap) hotels, like EasyHotel, Travelodge, Ibis etc. Whatever you do, do NOT stay at the Britannia on Portland Street or at Sachas.

Additionally, often you don’t have to pay upon booking, you can pay on arrival which makes budgeting much easier. The train is ok if you can get an early booking again, but if you can get to Victoria Ann’s you don’t mind adding an extra couple of hours onto your journey the coach is often 1/4 or 1/3 of the cost | |||
