we go at least once a year some times twice, but only started swinging this year and had some fun at an 80's 1 a couple of months ago, and yes we booked a month ago for the bootleg ball in march, we can't wait great fun, and love the fancy dress too

its basically a weekend of tribute bands, loads of people get dreesed up in fancy dress and get pissed and have lots of fun lots go on stag/hen do's all a fab weekend lots of fun and if you get lucky then a really FAB weekend ha ha |

Those tribute bands tend to go down better then the headliners..they certainly did at Minehead last year.
Butlins really need to review who they book, most people just want to party and dance..unfortunately this was not the case with Shakatak (an old favourite of mine) but it just isnt 'that sort of music' and they didnt go down too well.. |

We didnt bother with fancy dress last time as we were on our own...bad move, people were pointing and saying 'look at that strange couple'!

We have done about 7 butlins do.s only 1 as swingers but all fancy dress but stag a good laugh we have done superman and cat woman. The riddler and cat woman. Pirates gangsters school uniform. 80.s string vest running gear and madona look for Wifey. Prisoners. 70.s look with big wigs . guantanamo convict and sexy cop just to name a few lol look on ebay for fancy dress ideas there is loads and chances are there will be some 1 there with same costume ish lol. Only 2 months to go |

If your not in fancy dress on the Saturday night you look out of place . But we enjoy getting dressed up all weekend good laugh good music and good food if you go half board. Eat as much as you like and so much to choose from |

no problem guys. Blonde and Elvis. What's wrong with that ha ha to be honest that will probably be the time we get there. By vin time we get keys dropped our bags take the use full itinerary to the food court so we can plan our evening over tea then back to the room to get ready its usually a rush to get out for the first act usually about 8 ish but some times its later. I think it depends on what time of year and how busy it is to what time the acts start |

We've got no problems meeting singles in a group social, but you have to respect the majority wishes. Personally, we don't play with singles anymore for a number of reasons and when everyone has had a few beers it's very easy for people to read the signals wrongly.
These weekends attract hundreds of people and I'm sure you and your mates will have plenty to occupy yourselfs with.
The last social we tried to arrange at Butlins, there was plenty of interest here in the forum but when we got there no one turned up, not one.
On second thoughts, may be because we said where we were going to be, we gave everyone else the opportunity to avoid us. May be, just may be ??? |

We plan to get there early on Friday, we're travelling from Truro on Thursday and staying with family in Wolves on Thursday night and driving to Skeggy on Friday morning. We'll book in as early as we can and then start our weekend at our leisure.
Saturday afternoon is a good time to meet for a chat and no doubt everyone will bump into each other at different times over the weekend as they migrate from one venue to the next.
We'll take our laptop and will log on when we're in our room. There's still a month to go and plenty of time to make plans. I'm sure there will be people reading this thread who are going too but haven't posted. |

Evening guys. We literally live about 5 miles from butlins and would be happy for anyone to pop in if your passing this way.

Wear 1 Friday and 1 Saturday and if your enjoying dressing up wear 1 Sunday lol. We got 3 costumes but usually dress down a little and go in school uniform Sunday as not as many people dress up on Sunday but still fun. If you have not been they have a gigantic deck chair beach ball bucket spade and parasol you can take some funny pics near the beach just a 5 minute walk max from the pavilion lol |
