The next Mid Sussex Social will be on Saturday 30th April (pesky half term and kids!).
Open to all, please pop a message down below to say you are interested.
The new venue we are using is the forever home of The Mid Sussex Social.
Details will be sent out nearer the time.
Social only, what you get up to after is up to you!

As an idea for this one rather than the shit raffle which we've been doing, if everyone coming buys a cheap (max £5) gift wrapped preferably everyone gets a ticket and everyone gets a prize,

Hello you two, long time no see. I’ll message you both later this evening to say hi properly, but can I be a pencil in for this event. It feels like I might want to dip my toe back into the murky world of …… alcohol and karaoke.

Not the welcome I was expecting so in light of the above is anyone likely to be offended by my presence? The original two questions I had were what are the hours of the meet please and is there an admission charge? Thanks |

This is just our preference it's not the socials, social starts 8-11.30ish no admission charge |

Thanks for the reply. I'd be interested to get feedback on the following whilst here which hopefully site admin will respond to:
Having thoroughly searched my Personal Details, and Account Details pages, I see no evidence of me ever entering an answer to a question of "your sex." Stating one is a CD/TV does not determine "your sex," thus based on these criteria and being a genetic male, I find the following "Sorry, you can't send private mail to this user. Why? User has blocked everyone of your sex," to have no validity whatsoever.
Out of curiosity I ran a test on the 32 members to date who had shown an interest in the event, by simply clicking on the private reply link on their postings. 23 provided a "User has blocked everyone of your sex" response, an alarming 72%. That doesn't feel "sociable" to me. |

I have all message filters on, so if you’d tried me it would have said that, not because I wouldn’t be sociable, but because I don’t want messages at the moment. |

I personelly would not in anyway be offended by you attending. Genuinely not sure if i have a filter to prohibit TV/CD's from messaging me, however, i have no interest in receiving messages from you as you are not what i am looking for. Many people that attend socials are not what i am looking for. It is a social, not a speed date night.

Thanks to Hippychick and Josey for replying.
Tested Hippy,' she has the "not replying to your sex" block, which is clearly not an accurate representation of her wishes as it suggests segregation, when as stated she simply doesn't want messages from anyone. Site admin please revise.
As for Josey, he has the perfect statement on his, he's not looking to meet CD/TV but will still accept messages from such. |

Everyone is welcome at the social, we love meeting new people and while our filters may be a little tighter, it's just our preference but we are more about the social side as a couple at present.
Josey....I will probably be wearing the red number you have seen before 
Please do come along, it will be a great night with a great mix of people.

You couldn't make it up could you? Further to my earlier posting, I noticed a local couple to me were attending and decided I'd drop them a line, until that was they have a different block set up which I'd seen a copy of before: "we only accept messages from site supporters." FFS, it can't get any worse can it? Oh you bet it can.
Next one, a CD, I clicked on their profile only to be presented with "user has hidden their profile." Is this some sort of fking set up?
Thanks for the invite but I won't be attending. Virtually no one seems willing to talk prior to the event so why expect any different in person? |

We understand your frustration but meeting in the flesh can be so much better but we respect your decision and we are sorry you felt that way.
