Looking forward to a great weekend- anyone done this event before? We don’t have fancy dress so hope we don’t stand out as killjoys ! Will there be a Kik or WhatsApp group so fabbers can get together? We hope to meet for some fun xxx |

Is it fancy dress every night or just the Sat? I know stag parties will be in fancy dress all weekend but what about everyone else?

That’s a relief - we planned the Sat as fancy dress night.So good that Fri/sun is a bit more relaxed !! |

Not sure if I’m staying over on Sunday - but I’ve got a ‘full on’ fancy dress on Saturday which I can just about squeeze into - and just an ‘I love the 80’s’ t-shirt and some tacky bead jewellery courtesy of Amazon for the Friday. I think I have some lurid leg warmers to complete the tasteful ensemble.
Let’s just say I’m not expecting to pull on either night!  |

it’s mental innit? You get home and people ask if you had a good time and you say you had an amazing time. Then they ask you to elaborate, but even the most concise and articulate amongst us can’t make them appreciate it on any level comparable to what we experience!
I’ve truly got the buzz this weekend from just looking around and seeing everyone in their own daft little zone, living their best life with cheesy and goofy grins, totally oblivious to everyone and everything else around them!
Black Lace shouldn’t work. Try explaining it to someone who wasn’t there. They won’t appreciate it, but seeing 10 congas on the dancefloor and everyone just enjoying themselves innocently was amazing. Bingo Bongo shouldn’t work. But its entertainment at it’s best! I genuinely got a shiver down my spine and goosebumps when everyone sang along to “Don’t stop me now”, but then pissed myself as within a split second of the chorus he went “eight and one, eighty-one!” and all the women playing bingo had to jump back down to mark their tickets!! ??
All in all, I’m broken, tired, aching, slightly depressed it’s over, can’t speak, got vodka throat burn, blisters from walking in stupid footwear and am shitting like a goose! But it was all worth it cos seeing the pure joy in people’s faces was amazing! I wouldn’t do anything differently. |
