You should still be able to get one however you will be hammered by the APR
If your rating is bad you may be better checking out your credit history with experian (its free for 30 days I think) and getting it sorted in the long term |

You haven't said what its for which doesn't help. If you want to buy a car, for example, then I cannot suggest anywhere that you may have not already tried. If your credit rating is poor due to debts, those you have paid off should write and confirm so and let the credit agency know too. If its poor because you are young, you just need to search harder, maybe a credit card? If you are in debt and need it to clear them, better option is to contact a debt management agency; consumer credit counselling agency was set up by the government and doesn't charge, helped me loads |

I've been in this situation before and I'm afraid you've got little chance of getting a loan without an exhorbitant interest rate - if you get one at all that is.
Capital One seem free and easy with their cash so give them a try, but your best bet is to try and get by without the loan and rebuild your credit history. It took me six years to get myself on a decent footing again (leftover debt from my first marriage that I had to take on when she stopped paying her debts).
It's a false economy to keep borrowing and believe you can pay it back, as that's what has got you a bad credit rating in the first place.
(If only Labour would own up to this eh lol) |

i would live on porridge and lentils and rice til pay day...the last thing u need is more debt then investigate joining a local credit union...seriously borrowing is not going to help
(porridge, lentils and rice will fill you, is cheap and healthy...we did it when kev was doing his pgce) |

Do you have a mortgage?
I borrowed £3,500 last year to clear my overdraught, borrowed it from my own bank, and (being crap with figures) got totally ripped! the interest alone id more than I was paying on bank charges
This year I got top up on my mortgage for £5,000 and it costs half as month every month as he feck'n loan did.
So if you have a mortgage, try a top up... but don't tell them you're desperate, say it's for house improvements. Hope this helps a little. |

It's not ideal, but maybe try a credit card with a free introductory period...just don't make the same mistake I did and actually pay it off when you get paid! Also, keep an eye on the credit limits as they have a habit of keep pushing them up. Maybe just have one with a couple of hundred pounds just to see you through to the end of the month? |
