Just asking cos men dont have sizes ... you know that if i am a 34 waist and 5ft10 i am around 12 stone. How come we have to be open about our inches but ladies dont? I feel victimized lol |

There was no woman in mind. Just us blokes get no hidden stuff cos we are a 34 or 52 inch waist, how come we have to be specific but ladies get the lovely option of dress size? Who made that up? So if you find it derogatory cos your large thats down to you i am afraid! |

I did not say you did make the comment, I am saying that some of the comments made supposedly in jest (I hope) are offensive, I am perfectly happy with my size and weight but a lot of women on here are not as we have often seen in the forums and comments like these make them feel even worse |

I did find out though, that 118 kg was the weight of someone who was struggling to get her size 22 trousers done up. This converts to 260.145 lb OR 260 lb and 2.32 oz or 18.5714 st OR 18 st and 8.00 lb if that helps |

u clearly know nothing about the body which is hardly a shock women can be the same size and same height and still weigh different sizes. and what is all this crap about guys being honest about there weight u can have two guys that r 32' waists one can be skinny and just no muscle and weigh 10 stone another could be completely muscle and weigh 12 stone so go and do some more research before u make ladies unhappy with themselve and no i am happy with oh i am but then i am not a single bloke clearly who needs to engage his brain before he types |

I see the point of the thread but its a shame it got nasty in the middle, after the last few posts it seems pointless to say anymore about the inconsistencies of dress size and weight mixed with height
I vary from a 22 right up to a staggering 28 depending on styles so what does that mean and I am....... Never going to tell u as only I know!
I still weigh myself as although I am a fat bitch I couldnt give a flying fish what others think
I love myself for me and not for others and under the layers of blubber I am nice unlike some who feel the need to ridicule others regardless of what that's about ie fat thin tall short glasses big noses or teeth, I feel we should accept each other as individuals and just be nice respecting people may have insecurities and get offended by what another would see as just a laugh

No one need be telling porkies there... One of my friends was at one point 4 stone heavier than me..... Yet some of our clothes fit the other person too... It's all about build / height etc etc as well..

Being a bloke who keeps getting told that I can't use a tape measure properly ! Aparrently I keep adding 6 inches to my measurements 
So at 13 inches long with a 11 1/2 inch diameter does this make me normal or WE "
Think you're using the wrong side of the tape measure, you need the side that says CM's not MM's ....
Back to the OP - the size/weight question all depends on a persons height so there's no set answer xx

Too much! And yet i have to pay for their health care costs as a knockon effect. Its not right.
And nobody can accuse me of being fattest or use the excuse "Oh, but im so big because of my health conditions."
I used to be obese through a health condition i will always have. So obese that docs next steps were to take me into hospital to make me lose weight. 'I' decided to do something about it and after two years succeeded. Since then i struggle to put on weight, probably through the correct amount of physical activity i have in my life (plus too much sometimes). Had serious illness as knockon affect of lifelong illness at beginning of this year. In those seven weeks i put on 2stone through not being able to move around!

I've a similar problem. Tore a hamstring quite badly a couple of years back. I eased back in oh so gently, but even now still get the twinges. Consequently having been lenient on myself (for the sake of saving further injury) I've puddinged out a bit, but this should drop off again when I get moving.
Striking the balance is the hard bit for most, and most underestimate their level of excercise or the calorific value of food. 10 Minutes on a stationary bike for each digestive biscuit sort of sets it into perspective!
Then there's metabolic syndrome which really doesn't help. Most think they can go mentally active and it just drops off, but it's more like the immovable object and takes forever to get going, but once going stays going unless you stop giving it little nudges - most try, see no improvement and get pissed off and give up. Yo Yo dieting doesn't help either. Anyway I've waffled on enough...

Congratulation on your steely resilience and losing weight. I know it can be done with will power, I'm just waiting for mine to kick in lol I would turn down the offer of any gastric surgery purely for the fact that all my half assed attempts have been just that. |

Can I just point out that until you posted that I had no frame of reference as to what weight a man was to his waist size.
But then I'm not so concerned about people weight. If I like them I like them end of really. |

At my heaviest, I was 12.5st and a size 22/24 being only 5'2/157cm.
When my right knee developed some pain in 2005, I went to see a Osteopath for free as I was working in the NHS at the time.
It turned out my knee naturally bends inwards, causing stress on the cartridge, and the extra weight did not help.
I learnt to do exercise to minimise the stress on the knee.
Now my weight is steady at around 11st, with regular exercise, I no longer have pain in my knee.
Apart from that, I am in good health. No bad for someone who is pushing 50 I'd say.

Your size 22 lady should weigh what she wants. If she`s paid to it then it`s her job. If she works in a confectioners then she must weigh the sweets she sells and not guess the weight. If she cooking or baking then she will have to weigh her ingredients if her food is to be a success .....

That's not a bad shout! Lol. The dress size thing is far more accurate than the self proclaimed sizes on people's profiles. I never realised that 'cuddly' could cover such a wide range of sizes from the ever so slightly overweight, to ones the size of oil tankers! I'm not knocking anybody about their size here but please be honest about it! I was messaged by someone 'cuddly' the other day and was seriously considering acting on thectradescdescription act! |

Dress size has nothing to do with weight. Im a size 16 and about 12stone. I know women that weight 11stone and are a size 16 and women that weight 16 stone and are a size 16. There is a woman at slimming club whose two stone heavier than me and a dress size smaller.
Surely, or am i being to simplistic, if you see a photo of someone you can tell whether your attracted to someone by looking at it, or do you want all measurements plus bmi readings and a note from the doctor to say how healthy we are |
