I stopped drinking in January and glad I did. Had maybe one bottle since then split into several days/occasions. Alcohol is a depressant really and in these circumstances it can be a risky route if you are already down.. but a little to cheer and have a virtual cocktail hour might do you just good. |

Well done, Rose
I gave up over 2 years ago, after randomly reading a book that changed my perspective on my relationship with alcohol. I have a drink from time to time (maybe one glass of wine every few months).
I feel much healthier, I sleep better, I’ve saved £1.5k/year and have no fucking mates as a result |

I don't really drink - I had a few gins last week, generally tends to be every four to six weeks, sometimes longer. Right now I don't want to face the hangxiety I get on top of all my other worries. |

This is good to read! I hope you keep it up (if that's what you want to do). |

I have never drank at home, even when running pubs my accommodation was a dry area for me, I always keep alcohol in for visitors but never touch it myself. I'm happier with a cup of tea.
Try getting me out of a bar though on a night out....that's a different story!

I love drinking, drinking alone drinking socially everything that I can get my hands on.
Unfortunately it doesn't like me so I'm giving up. I got six bottles of red a week ago and I've got five left. All beer cripples me for two days as after. I'm gutted as I don't want to be one of those boring tee total types.
I've had my time, I gave it a good go. Sobriety here I come. |

I partied a lot in my twenties and in the end I realised I was spending all of my weekends hungover
I'm not tee total but have slowed down a lot |

Have a wine or a Jack Daniels occasionally but I’m working at home so i cant afford to get slaughtered and not be fit the day after. Have too many things to do to get bored. Most can be done and have been done alone and then with others using videoconferencing for ages so not a major adjustment apart from the meeting people in person. Which I can live with because it’s just the right thing to do at the moment. |

The only alcohol I have in the house right now is vermouth (for martinis), brandy (from Christmas baking), and a random rose gin liqueur. Not all that tempting! I made an active decision not to stock up ahead of the lockdown and, while I'm not a big drinker generally, can really feel the difference in my sleep quality and morning energy. |
