The Pianist - a reality check

I know it’s only a movie but watching the horrors of the Warsaw ghetto in the Pianist last night made me realise that what’s happening right now is just an inconvenience for most of us. Obviously a different matter for those in the NHS or suffering. It was a reality check.

On a separate note, I was once in the Brasserie Lipp in Paris and Adrian Brodie came in and sat next to us. I had no idea who he was.

It's an amazing movie. But different times.. present different challenges and 'enemies'.

Saw that years ago and still can’t get the scene out of my head where the police enter the flat upstairs. Both a great and a horrific film.

Loved the movie until the whole Polanski scandal exploded. He's a pedo and a rapist. Will never watch his movies again, that's for sure!

I've just read his Wikipedia page.

What would you be like in his situation?

NW London

Totally agree, people then had to worry about the horrors of war, having their homes and possessions destroyed and a genuine shortage of food/supplies.

Coupled with having your parents and your pregnant wife murdered.
