Yep... I was sent home from work today until further notice, everyone was so sad and all we wanted was to hug, it is just so alien and I never felt so disconnected

Of course we are, we are a social animals, we can’t live individually, it’s distressing but we have to go through it as it doesn’t seem any other way..

Very true people do not tend to be friendly nowadays it is hard to get a smile from a person but some do smile back and can make the day go better.

Do this mean that people might be able to go outside one day, not holding on to their phone?

Fuck sakes!

Ok you can't hug (or shag randoms )but we can Skype, text, ring, email or even write (whatever next !!)to the people you know and love.

Stop whinging and one way or another contact everyone you know to let them know you're thinking of them and you're there for them.

Me and the child sent a whole load of cards out through the post on Saturday and we've been getting thankyou messages today saying we've brightened peoples day.

So get your finger out and get on with it.

It ain't all about you.

Yes feeling very lost and lonely.

So tomorrow I'm going to sit down with the kids and write letters to folks in a nursing home. Bet they're lonely too with no visitors.

Maybe will make someone smile a little

It's ok to be missing it, but just think how great it will be when you first get to hug someone.

So nice to see something like this outside of the trivial "oh I'm bored" and "I miss this thing" whining with no attempt to do something constructive or positive. It's a trying time for everyone but digital contact goes a long way towards negating isolation. We live in an amazing time with technology that can keep us in contact with anyone in the world (provided connection both ends!).

You realise this can be transferred by touching the cards right?

I'm checking on friends that live alone to make sure they are OK. I will message them daily to just check in.

God Yes! I'm very tactile and although I still see people at work ( I'm a key worker in social care) not being able to see or hug my grandaughter and friends, or put a reassuring arm around people at work feels so strange. Looking forward to squeezing everyone skinny when this is over

If it is virus related ... Ppl should get a grip. It's been only a day that the lockdown is official and ppl talk like if it has been years they haven't been in touch with another human !

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

No ..

I think it’s a bit premature to be saying we miss contact.

Let’s put it into perspective shall we ...

It’s dangerous

It’s life threatening

Right now, I think not hugging someone or seeing family is something we have to suck up.

I get it , I really do but there are some out there without enough food to eat, let alone not being able to see anyone.

I'm classed as a critical worker (factory). so I'm still going to work.

I live on my own and the self isolating thing is something I've got a blackbelt in.
