I just realised with all this stuff going on I'm burying my head in the sand. I'm avoiding that forum section, not really engaging with social media and just occasionally watching the news.

It got me thinking about how we deal with a crisis.

What do you do? Hide and wait for things to blow over? Actively seek information? Go out of your way to help yourself and others?

Is the way you're reacting what you'd have expected? I am normally one for learning about things, I want to understand the world and the things that happen, I'm a bit shocked at how I've been

I'm avoiding the statistics until they're meaningful.

Which they'll never be.

Better for mental health to avoid information overload.

People quacking and flapping isn't going to make anything better.

I’m watching BBC news to keep updated

Manchester (she/her)

I determine reliable sources and binge on them. It's not healthy. My anxiety is a mess.

I'm finding my voluntary work calming and grounding. Purpose, doing something to bring some good into the world.

I am trying to be practical and level headed.

My thought process wants to know everything there is to know about the situation and it's impact.

At the moment I am just trying to do what is being asked and taking each day as it comes now

I found out two days ago that I'm more vulnerable than I thought, given what we know. I'm glad I know so I'm extra careful.

Central

I'm currently open and learning about it but I may disconnect at some point, when there's little to learn other than health damage staristics.

Take care, it is crazy times.

I am vulnerable too and thought I was invincible. My boss thinks differently so now observing social distancing, which is good she did because I would never would of made that choice

I think I avoid, then deny, get a little bit cross, then just do whatever it takes, then find a way to help out. My disbelief at the weirdness if it all is out weighing my panic currently, I will get my organised head on soon which calms all the wobbles and be back positive and a little bit darkly humouros (how is that spelt?)

Masked and Distant

Think I'm paying too much attention to the news and online media.

Got to get the right level of information and facts to keep informed.

I'm probably still low risk, but apparently autoimmune disease might mean more severe illness. I'm being really careful. Thank you.

Wirral

It fills my days, I have to keep a close watch on global developments for my job, it all impacts my supply chain.

My anxiety is through the roof, so I try very hard to avoid it of an evening and weekend - it can consume my 8-5 but it's not getting the rest.

I miss being able to destress by swimming or by having sex, physical tension isn't helping.

For some time now (pre virus) I have avoided the news and such as it is full of sadness and other negativity. And there is nothing I can do to change things!

As for the virus, I feel I need to know enough to make good decisions but not to dwell on statistics and scare myself more than I already am.
