if it's any consolation i lose things ALL the bloomin time.. car keys, phone, marbles...

I've never actually seen the wisdom of putting a 'silent' feature on a phone. It's a bit like ringing someone you know to be deaf (which begs the question: Why do they have a phone in the first place??)  |

Because years ago someone bought me a phone to keep in touch when I am out, and I realised I liked the fact no one could get in touch with me when I am out....so I stick it on silent |

Now take it to your nearest mobile shop, swap it for a shiny new iPhone - and hey presto - assuming you've downloaded the 'find my iphone' app - problem solved!
