Im not quite sure how to word all of this, but in regards to Britains Got Talent when there are various types of act to choose from i often wonder why certain acts are more popular than others
Are the people who go through truly the most talented? Is it just a popularity contest because that act had most press coverage? Do kids just get the sympathy vote? and do dance acts do well because of the 700 members of that 'crew' each with 20 family members up and down the country and that causes the 'well i went to school with someones brother who knew dancer 53' etc etc
If all voting was free and only one vote per household allowed would it create a fairer vote?
Ive just been thinking a bit too much lol Please feel free to add any opinions x |

I haven't watched BGT this year. But my general impression is you need 50% story and 50% talent. Having only one of them gets you through a few rounds.
if you have 50% talent and 50% story and you look a bit gimpy you can win. |

I think it would take more than family - but cute or a good sob story helps but also nationality withing the uk has an effect - that said the voting and the judges comments in BGT have been pretty spot on so far in my opinion |

See id agree with this when it comes to solo artists or acts with a few members. The story makes the act more personable (is that a word) and gives the viewer the 'likability' factor. Sometimes more difficult to achieve with a big group of people |

If there was a team of blind orphan breakdancers they would win. |

A certain amount of that will be editing tho and a lot of those which don't get through are followed around by the camera also - it is meant to entertain people |

If you watch from the beginning you can already tell who theyve picked as the ones who go through have coverage, why go film at their home, or other places if they arent gonna get into live shows.
Its all about money. they dont care who wins as they still make tons. |

Its clever editing.. During the audition shows you'd get a semi great act being shown 2 or 3 acts into the show and then the majorly good act as the last act before that program finishes. Its almost like a standard format for these shows. |

The vast majority of the people who audition for these types of show have little or no talent.....the sad thing is they start to believe they can sing when an equally tone deaf friend or relative bigs them up and tells them how great they are....and they just ain't!
Their delusion eats away at them until they convince themselves they are the next best thing....and they never will be.

A lot of people dont realise, this and x-factor u go through several auditions to get to the real judges, so complaining bout someone who is terrible isnt worth it. They put them through only for entertainment. |

only if their grandma had just died...
its the modern bedlam, anyone who believes that either the acts are chosen on talent or the results are not fixed is so naive i cannot communicate with them on any level. |

Its standard there has to be one character or act thats crap that people feel compelled to vote for as a laugh or as a dig at the show so they earn from the ani vote too, lige that asian woman and Johny last year |
