A lot of potential hassle. Make sure you get a good letting agent. x

Depends if you've got somewhere else to live - otherwise probably a bit daft!

I was going to say the same. You will pay 8-18% but you will have someone sorting the hassle out for you.

Ho ho ho ho, Here ya go son First purchase a baseball bat, Don't lease for less than a year because you will forever be advertising and showing people round what feels like every couple of months. Definitly get checkable references because you can't get blood out of a stone and if they break the agreement Royal arse pain again and they may not tell you untill your due a months rent. Also people don't give a shit that it's your lovely clean house and you will get it back every time like some junkie animals have broken in and squated. Hope I'm not putting you off. I even had to kick down and replace my own back door to throw some arsehole out and I got a night in the cells. It's a mine field but but do it properly and it shouldn't be a massive hastle. Or go down the road of a letting agent who if it comes 2 it and someone doesn't pay won't kick the back door in you'll have 2 do that yourself. They will want you 2 take them 2 the civil court in the process paying their rent for about the year it takes 2 come to court. Basically vet the tennents very carefully. Listen man I could go on forever about this rented my house quite a lot when working out of the area. If you can afford an estate agent tey take away a lot of hastle but want a lot of money in return.......SCUM BAG TENNENTS!

OR you could be lucky and have a tennent like me, who always pays on time, looks after and takes pride in my home, fixes and problems with the house and have done it up to a high standard. But yeah I've seen what scum have done to a house they rent and its not pretty.

If you love it, be careful. It is rare that a tenant really cares for your property.

if you can find good tenants yes but i would seek professional advice. I have rented privately for years now and always leave a place in good condition its a shame some dont but vet them properly and you should be ok

It is a minefield. Years ago, people complained about bad landlords, now its bad tenants. The best tenant I ever had, never even moved in! Just used the address to make a lot of catalogue purchases! Left the place nice though! Most the others have left the houses a tip. Smashed doors, windows, dog excrement all over etc. Not so for me, as the properties were bought cheap, when prices were low, so income was still relatively good. Wouldn't do it with my own home though.
