I work nights in a dementia care home. We're expecting to loose between 5 and 30 residents.
No visitors allowed and we're going onto skeleton staff next week. We just hope it's not as bad once it does hit but I have people aged 102 with brain cancer i know won't make it and they'll be afraid and confused.
Poor souls deserve better. |

Thank you.
There's something about working with end of life people who are on do not resuscitate that makes you see your life and own mortality differently
We don't know why we are here - the experience seems to be everything. Embrace love and everything the world has to offer while you can.
We're a long time dead. |

I was thinking about this earlier, I don't actually have any elderly or vulnerable neighbours. I'm gonna have to go hunting for people to help! "
Our local community is arranging for people / kids to draw and write letters to the elderly in care homes so they get some interaction and don’t think they’ve been forgotten about |

My dad and his partner are both over 80. I worry that their usual panic over little things will mean that they'll end up serioysly in trouble (emotionally) over this.
He has early dementia and she has lung cancer. They have their own home so I can drop things off but how do you keep a 6 foot distance? Plus, won't anything I drop off potentially been a source of infection?
I might just move them both in now the kids have graduated and left home. Although my youngest has health issues and I want her back here too (oldest now lives down south).
I'm mam and dad - it's in my nature to protect and care. So not being able to feels so claustrophobic and frustrating. |
