Watching 'Friends' on Netflix and laughing my head off. Why are all modern comedy shows rubbish?

It's been YEARS since I found a comedy series that was funny. Tried big bang theory, how I met your mother etc. The only decent one was modern family for a while. Tried a lot of the new ones coming out but they are all useless. Strained comedy, too much wokeness, no chemistry with the actors.

Anyone else find the same? Literally had to revert back to Friends just to have something to watch.

Post 9/11 everything became propaganda and creativity has no place on the mainstream anymore

When was the last time you heard a protest song on the voice?

30 Rock was good, Alec Baldwin was the best, but even that lost its sparkle. I’ve not watched anything new for ages.

I personally find friends really boring.

I like Plebs & Friday night dinner.

I watched This Way Up this week and that was really good - I love Aisling Bea and Sharon Horgan, very funny women. There's only 6 episodes though.

Parks and Recreation and Veep are brilliant and will keep you going longer.

Friends is dire.

Seinfeld or Frazier are superior imo

Ive found most comedy to be the exact opposite for years.

Simple fun. This Country, from the BBC is worth watching. Caught up with new series episodes today and brightened the weekend. We discussed it here a few weeks ago, before the current, and final, series started.

Different people find different things funny. I personally found Friends only had about one laugh in every three or four series. Luke

Only time I properly laughed at Friends, was when Ross got the tanning wrong.

I prefer a lot of modern comedy now, Derry Girls is certainly one and anything with Alan Partridge

It's pretty much always on in the background in my house. Always liked the show and still laugh at certain episodes all the time.

I love it! It's the one thing I actually look forward to new episodes of.

There are a lot of references to comedy which was out at the time of Friends. I'm not talking about that. Those comedy shows were funny.

I'm talking about more recent ones. Thanks for those who offered suggestions I will check them out!

The only one I like recently is The Ranch but it starts pretty slow and only gets good half way through first season. It then stopped being funny after a key character left (no spoilers!).

Any more suggestions appreciated.
