Hey, you bought it all. It's not my fault you didn't have a plan for what happens next. Now you'll have to spend the next fortnight forlornly shovelling handfuls of dry pasta into your easily-led, panic-buying facehole.
I'm having a beef teriyaki stir fry, myself... |

"Any recipes "
Wash it through with water in a sieve
Bring salted water to the boil and add pasta
Turn it down to a simmer and carefully time it while checking it until it's to your firmness liking
Remove from pan and drain
Slowly take it to the table
And throw it in the bin because your takeaway curry is just being delivered |

"Anyone got any Pasta left? "
Yep, even though I didn’t buy that much to begin with.
As for a recipe, basil pesto with pan-toasted pine nuts and Grana Padano grated on top |

Here's my recipe for "pasta with stuff": Cook the pasta. Look through the fridge and cupboard. Anything that makes me think "that'll be nice with pasta", in it goes.
Next week: John's secret recipe for "rice with stuff". |

So much you can do with pasta, all depends what you have in
Apart from the obvious spag bol, carbonara, etc we enjoy penne or fusilli with shredded spiced chicken, mascarpone cheese, red pesto, crispy bacon and spring onions all tossed together. It’s great hot or cold

Pastas not boring in my house!
Sausage or chicken pasta bake- add onions, mushrooms or whatever you like. Tin of tomatoes and herbs (or a dolmio if you’re lazy) cook it, put it in a dish, sprinkle lots of cheese on and put in oven. Boootiful!
Salmon and pasta. (My fave) tub of creme fraiche, add wholegrain mustard, lemon, honey and a tin of sweetcorn. Cook the salmon, break it up and chuck it in the sauce, warm it up. Mix with the pasta. Heaven on a plate |

I tend to Boil the water (with salt and/or olive oil) in a large pan. Once boiling add the pasta and cook for 8-12 mins, depending on the shape – see above. Drain and leave to steam dry for a few mins, just until the surface of the pasta looks matte. Then add pasta sauce, pesto or simply a good drizzle of olive oil and seasoning. Mix really well to coat and allow some of the sauce or dressing to be absorbed into the pasta. Season with salt, pepper and a finely grated hard cheese like parmesan.
While the pasta is simmering I knock up a quick and easy curry at the same time..
.. And throw away the pasta |
