Corona virus!

Hand washing. Sensitive skin. Dry, sore, painful hands. Dermatitis flare ups.

Please recommend hand creams.

Yep it’s amazingly good and comes in massive bottles. I get it on prescription. Or at least I did until I had nowhere to store all the bottles of it. When I run out I’ll get it renewed.

I have hand cream, but I'm finding that prolonged extra hand washing is taking its toll on my sensitive skin.

Dove soap . Alcohol based hand cleansers and gels will make your hands very sore when frequently used. Normal soap or Dove cream soap when washed properly is fine.

Try using disposable gloves in public so can just throw away so don’t have to wash hands as often saves as much irritation

I would agree with this. I suffer badly with eczema on my hands and this does the trick way more than e45. Doesn't sting etc. Go for the one with the blue cap

Got the same problem. I am using Lotil at the moment which is Ok.

I find I have to use a different cream each winter as my hands seem to get used to one and then it doesn't have same effect. Have used Neutrogena and O'Keefe's in the past, both good for a while...

I mean, I was washing my hands before it got trendy

You're still supposed to wash your hands (or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available) even after you used disposable gloves.

Aveeno for us lot. I've got a little one who has skin issues and the aveeno calms the skin quickly even with small breakages.

We've previously used coco butter but the 'bounty' smell put them off

I use Kamill intensive, it's German brand that you can get in UK in B&M (£1, bargain!) or online. It feels a bit greasy at first, but it soaks in your skin very quickly.

Can you change the soap you're using? Or, if it's the soap that's provided by your workplace, can they change soap to something less harsh for sensitive skin?

Absolutely this. I work outside all winter and have always had really bad splits in my hands. Tried loads of different things over the years, then someone gave me a pot of O’keeffe’s Working Hands cream and it’s bloody brilliant. Never use anything else now.
