For the last few days I've been getting pain in far left of my chest. It hurts quite a bit when I move or bend down.
Could it be a heart condition or muscular pains?
I havent don't any physical work for a long time so I don't know how it could be muscular pains. |

Really??
If it's concerning enough to ask everyone on FAB - then I would go to A&E.
Yes it might be a 4 hr wait.. but Geeze - left arm... Could be indigestion... but be safe - not sorry!
I would rather know I was ok - than it be too late.
This is like the earlier "my brakes stick on my car until i drive off post" GMS! |

"If you are worried call 111 rather than going to A&E.
This.
Have you got any rennie or gaviscon if it is indigestion. "
I got Rennies around here somewhere. I've had this for days though and I didn't think indigestion would last do long and never thought indigestion would cause pain in my chest so not thought about taking a Rennie.
I will now. |

If it was a cardiac problem you'd probably know by now but still get checked out if it's worrying you.
Usually if it's a heart issue the pain would be constant and not come and go with specific movement. And it would more likely emanate from the center of the chest and not the left side as many would think.
I get regular ectopic beats so I've researched chest pain symptoms and doctors have told me what the serious signs are.
Having said that, I'm not a doctor so don't take my word for it. |

Just a thought here, but perhaps you might be better off going to see your GP than asking for the unqualified guesses of strangers on a swingers site.
Chest pains can be the sign of a serious condition. For goodness sake, seek professional medical advice |

That isn't always the case, although there are symptoms to watch for not everyone will get every one of them or the same ones
I know someone who had upper arm pain for weeks, turned out to be a heart problem and that was a warning sign |

Go see a doctor pain is a warning sign that something is wrong it could be anything. From blocked artery, pinched nerve, pulled muscle, prelude to an aneurysm, heart attack, lung related issues, a cyst, a tumour, acid reflux, maybe you knocked into something but didn't notice. So many things pain could be it could be absolutely anything so go see a doctor. Chest pain is no laughing matter better checked now than sorry later if you get chance to be sorry. |

Are you taking the piss with this thread ?
No I'm not "
Then if you are serious I am surprised you even need to ask the question.
Disclaimer, I am not saying you can't, just that it is a surprise |

Ah yeah, you're right. I was just putting his mind at ease that the chances are it's not serious but yeah, he needs to get it checked out if it's enough pain for him to think something could be wrong. |

Chest pain is always a case of getting it checked out.
Could be nothing at all, maybe some form of strain, but on the other hand, who knows?
Despite good heart health in the past 16 years, I noticed a recurring twinge about 2 years ago.
I mentioned it to my GP, who listened to my chest & hearing a faint Murmur referred me to the local hospital.
They couldn't find any due cause despite tests, but it was a blessing in disguise, as they found I'd a slightly narrowed Aortic Valve.
I now have an annual Echocardiogram to monitor the valve.
But as my GP, and the cardiac docs said then "even in good health, any unexplained or never before experienced chest pain needs to be checked out. You did the right thing, but a lot of people don't!" |

Call 111 - they will refer you to a&e immediately.
I was having right sided chest pains for a couple of weeks. As soon as I phoned they insisted i went to hospital. They said to get someone to drive or call an ambulance. They absolutely Insited it needed to be checked despite being non heart side.
It turned out to be nothing, chest infection with some rib cartilage swelling, but the point being they take no chances with chest pain. |

You could call the NHS advice line, to discuss your symptoms, where they will ask pertinent questions for a basic diagnosis and advise what to do next. It could be a simple thing like indigestion, which can appear like a strong chest pain or something more troubling. Things are better solved than ignored. Otherwise, check your GP surgery for last minute appointments. |

Women's symptoms of a heart attack differ to men's, women can't rely on this, women present with a heart attack differently. Thought I'd add that, no one is exactly sure why there's a difference though. Documented in women is nausea, light headedness, back pain, jaw pain, feeling of anxiety, fatigue as well as some of the usual chest pain, chest tightness but women tend to have more of the other symptoms than what's most common in men which is usually chest pain that radiates to the arm and down the arm and acid reflux. Heart attacks aren't always instant but prolonged over several hours and more sooner it's spotted the better. People have been known to carry on a whole day while having a heart attack.
It's good info to know if not for your own health but others around you.
My grandad had 4 heart attacks 4th one killed him his symptoms varied each time. Most people don't make it to a 3rd due to the tissue death as a result of the attacks, time is of the essence.

Mate .. you need an ECG to figure whether it's cardiac, muscular or indigestion.
Cardiac usually radiates to arms.
One thing in your favour is you ain't a smoker .. so muscular is highly probable. |

Unlike to be heart attack. You certainly would not be commenting or waiting for responses if it were.
Could be stress, anxiety. Slouching. Our internal organs get stiffer and not supple as we get older. They don’t like being bent if we lay awkward.
Depends on your diet.
If it’s regular, could be your Gallbladder. Un able to deal with fat and oil in your diet.
All things for your GP
